Damn straight.
The government says destroying his own data during an airport interrogation was illegal.
A few things of note:
This is why people to your left have been chiding you about the "pedo" panic: now, the government can accuse you of being a "pedo" to justify committing crimes against you.
This is why people to your left have been chiding you about the "terrorist" moniker: for the last half century, the government can accuse you of being a "terrorist" to justify committing crimes against you.
exactly.
the recent new mexico case against meta literally went after end-to-end encryption itself (as a design feature) by arguing that the ability to exchange private messages that police can't surveil enables child sexual abuse. court mandated changes include "protecting minors from encrypted communications." as if minors being abused by adults would be helped instead of harmed by having no privacy or means to communicate that isn't recorded permanently. ridiculous.
(& if you think that was actually about punishing zuckerberg consider meta was only forced to pay $4.2 million & they bring in tens of billions every quarter. it was nothing to them. it was not about ''holding meta accountable'' it was about granting law enforcement more access to surveil activists)
"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

Cats Copy. Hence the phrase copy cat. And this cat is clearly fond of this dog as a family member, and just now realized by observing:
"OH WAIT Human is making biscuits on this dog brother and it HELPS with his pain??? Hey I can do that!! I can do that too! Look! Biscuits!!"
Veterinarian at the next follow up: "Dog is looking really good! But I'm concerned - with this kind of progress, it looks like Dog is getting HOURS of massage every day. If you work yourself into a repetitive motion injury, you won't be able to keep up with Dog's home physical therapy, and, you know, you'll be hurt, too."
Human: "I give Dog a massage for about 30 minutes a day. The rest is all Cat."
A Waymo vehicle delivered two 15-year-olds, who were drinking alcohol and shooting small water beads out of the car, straight to police.
I'm sure it's totally fine and normal and great that the taxi spies on you and will just deliver you directly to the police :)
This definitely can't be something that would be used in an abusive or arbitrary way :)
Law enforcement for sure wouldn't abuse something like this :)

Some families came home to find their roof already on fire. 🏚️
During the Highland Clearances, which stretched roughly from the mid 18th century into the 19th, many Highland landowners forcibly removed tenant farmers from land their families had worked for generations, often to make way for large scale sheep farming, which was significantly more profitable. Evictions could be sudden and brutal, with some accounts describing homes burned immediately after families were removed, specifically to prevent anyone from returning.
Displaced families frequently had nowhere established to go, some resettling in overcrowded coastal crofting communities with poor farmland, others emigrating to Canada, Australia, or the United States entirely. The Clearances remain one of the most painful chapters in Highland history, reshaping the region's population and culture in ways still felt today, with entire glens that once supported thriving communities left permanently empty.
It's the kind of history that doesn't need embellishment to feel heavy. The bare facts do that on their own.
