My sexuality is ambiguous because i don’t fucking know either. It’s left up to the viewer’s interpretation
People are unfazed if you hate women but if you dislike dogs they assume you're a bad person
really losing my patience for any 'feminist' statement to the tune of 'we need feminism because women fill a fundamentally different and necessary role than men and will be better at doing x y or z'. like actually i think we need feminism because it is an unbearable death of the spirit by inches to exist in a world where you are not seen as a fully realized human being because of a single cultural determination, and because a world that enshrines such things creates systems that are fundamentally sick to the core
John Kramer and Amanda Young from Saw II (2005) visited the Criterion Closet!!
why does sending an email to a professor feel like im deactivating a bomb
never kill yourself. you have to fill your mutuals dash with shit they don't care about forever, okay?
my general opinion on what people should be "allowed" to portray and what topics they should be "allowed" to explore in fiction is that you can make whatever art with whatever themes you want but i'm also allowed to think the way you handled it was tasteless and should've been done differently. my negative opinion on your handling of sensitive topics is the price of admission for publicly showcasing your work. this is not a pro-censorship stance because i am not The Government
this is getting really popular so i’d like to add the important caveat that your criticism of a work is no more unassailable than the work itself. just as one is entitled to be critical of something someone else is entitled to disagree with that criticism. i add this because some of you pretend to give a fuck about thoughtful analysis and then when someone points out flaws in your argument you declare that all criticisms are valid. this is untrue. the status of a hater is no more sacred than that of a liker. get off your high horse and engage in the thoughtful discussion you pretend to believe in or perish by my blade
it’s june I desperately need to stop wasting time
we’re basically halfway through the year this is getting SERIOUS
george has bad writing but it's rarely the 'bad' lines that the redditors give him shit for. yes i will defend 'fat pink mast' yes i will defend 'myrish swamp' and 'men call me darkstar and i am of the night' and 'the more she shat the more she drank' i actually dont care about any of them because they're effective for the tone and mood they're trying to convey. if im being honest my problem is that the dothraki dont get to be people
quiero ir a ver la peli de los backrooms al cine pero todas las funciones que hay están dobladas en español latino 🔪🔪🔪
I have GOT to stop spending $30
in 2024 i started some sort of commonplace book, mostly so i could take notes of books i borrowed from the library since i couldnt underline or write on them and keep them. i started writing down anything i came across that i wanted to keep: notes on articles i read online, things i had bookmarked on twitter, posts on tumblr i had in my likes, notes on podcasts and video essays, stuff i found on books and movies and documentaries. by now i have one notebook full of notes and im halfway through another one and i have started to reference them in my everyday life, going back to remember details and information i want to check, and im so glad that ive made it a habit to write on them and that now i have a register of so many things that interest me and i can go back to.
there's a girl on tiktok that reviews movies and books and i love her perspective, she always talks about stuff i know nothing about and when ive checked out things she mentioned its always interesting and something that sticks with me. today i went to check one of her videos and found out she deleted (or privated?) all of them. i cant watch them anymore. but i have a bunch of notes of her recommendations on my journals, written down so i could watch them later.
We can't live like this
