“… and i’ve had so many friends!” [audience laughs] “…but only one that mattered.” [audience quickly shuts up and gets emotional]

glinda singing the low parts of for good while elphaba sings the high parts bc they’ve both been changed by each other

the silence after elphaba melts, and then glinda’s sad little “elphie?” whisper

glinda picking up elphaba’s hat and crying while a soft clarinet rendition of for good plays in the background

the trumpet that plays the melody of “a celebration throughout oz that’s all to do with me” at the beginning of the finale

elphaba singing with glinda at the end but glinda doesn’t know she’s there

how the last scene echoes the first scene but this time the audience Knows glinda’s pain and everyone’s crying

“this time, i’d like to try to help. i’d like to try to be… glinda the good.”
