How have y’all’s wards dealt with introducing the new songs? Because my ward just chooses them random Sundays and leaves us to figure it out in the moment and that is not working well

This is a funny poll for Mormons :D
In Mormon theology a "living soul" is when an eternal spirit being is combined with a body, a tabernacle of flesh. According to the doctrine everything in the world was first created spiritually, and then physically, aka everything is made of spiritual matter and then combined with physical matter. (There's an extra deep layer about intelligences, about how there are different levels of intelligences that God organised, and that's why God can command a mountain to move and the mountain will obey, because the intelligence responds to God.)
So you ask a Mormon if they "believe in" souls and whether animals have them, and they'll just look around at all the living animals around and go "uhh, yeah?" :P

Idk this talk is just reminding me that being a member of this church really is about lifting others burdens and being a representative of Jesus Christ to serve others
this is why congregations are organized into location-based wards, and why we have the Member Tools directory, and why we hold the tray for the person beside us while passing the sacrament, and why we are all assigned people to minister to us and people for us to minister to, and why we do fast offerings, and why families in wards take turns feeding the missionaries, and why one of the first major church covenants was the Law of Consecration, etc., etc.,,,, the Church is an infrastructure that steers us towards service, connection, and interdependence
