And when the dormitories are stifling, she comes to the graveyard, and she treats her mausoleum like her own private little club house—or a throne room, where she holds court with her infernal retinue. Tonight, she has sent her demons on a small errand which has waylaid them unduly. Wendell is the first to return—uncharacteristically without his brother. His Hellmaiden does not let the discrepancy go unremarked upon.
