some additional turmeric-kun-verse things i wish i had time to draw:

oxiclean is not the only rival to turmeric-kun for white shirt-chan's love. there's also marinara-kun and soy sauce-kun, who are very stereotypical reverse harem anime character archetypes. marinara-kun is the wild redhead and soy sauce-kun is the cool but salty dark-haired guy.

turmeric-kun can't stand either of them, of course, but he does have a lot of friends within the spice cabinet who he introduces white shirt-chan to.

his main group of friends are the other typical curry spices. fenugreek-kun is his bestie and has a crush on ginger-chan, but since i only have fresh ginger he only sees her on rare occasions because she doesn't live in the spice cabinet. their love is just as tragic and star-crossed as white shirt-chan and turmeric-kun's

cumin-chan and coriander-kun are obnoxiously in love.

garlic powder-chan is super popular and is friends with everyone because she's participated in so many different dishes.

rosemary and thyme (not part of turmeric-kun's main friend group) are stoner lesbians.

i think business casual-chan (the uptight lady in the blazer; she's in the comic but no one says her name) has a longtime crush on oxiclean but refuses to act on it because she only knows oxiclean thru work (she's the one who contracts oxiclean for assassinations) and if there's one thing business casual-chan refuses to be, it's unprofessional.

As a genderfluid person, I never got to experience what growing up as a girl felt like. I think that’s why I seem to find myself so attached to mermaids—they’re part of the “childhood experience” for many girls, and had I been born one, they undoubtedly would have been part of mine.

And ultimately, there’s just something about them that just speaks to my experience with gender euphoria. 🧜‍♀️🧜‍♀️
