I've reflected on this myself yesterday, and I have to say no. The Sam and Max universe is a zany cartoon where absurdist humor takes precedence over the laws of physics. The fact that they've been married, have adopted a kid together, et al. doesn't carry much as much weight as it does for Venom, because, like. Max was once elected President of the United States and sold the country to Canada to solve an adventure game puzzle.

Sometimes things just happen because they're funny.

Sam and Max have plenty of gags and innuendo, and it's certainly canon that Max doesn't even like girls, but they are no more a "canon couple" than, like, Bugs and Daffy.

Awkward Announcement.

Alright there's technically still two days on the poll, but someone in the notes of it is citing sources, I think I've seen enough to make a ruling in the regard.

Eddie Brock and the Venom Symbiote are hereby disqualified on the grounds of actually being gay, and their victory null and void. I'm sorry that this was only caught so late in the proceedings, but we do have rules around here. Having an explicit, no-jokes romantic and sexual relationship is just against the spirit of the competition.

So, here's how this is gonna go. I'm going to make a poll of the first three Venom went against: Arthur and Merlin, Jessie and James, and Sam and Max. And whoever wins that will go against Junkrat and Roadhog, and Stanley and the Narrator in another three-way.

These polls will each last three days instead of a week because I sure as heck didn't budget time for this. And the exhibition matches with Venom in them, I suppose I'll keep them up, just because it would seem mean to just tear it down.
