Kaos’ age

Ever since I watched the show for the first time, I asked myself ‘’How old are K and Glum really?’’

It got confirmed, both through a twitter response from Eric Rogers, and through season 2, that Glumshanks is significantly older, old enough to pass as his dad. While that isn’t a set age, no number, it was enough for me at the time.

But I always imagined Kaos as an adult. Maybe not super old, but at least 18-20 years old. And while he still might be that, I found it interesting that in season 1, episode 6, he might be close to around 14 years old.

His mother mentions it took him 14 years to be toilet trained. While that itself is rather disturbing, it’s safe to say what Kaos is cleaning up in the same shot is an accident. Might be due to budget that he hasn’t changed at all since the age of 14, but it would actually make a lot of sense if he was around that age. A lot of his behavior, his sudden interest in his dad, his general development in the second season.

Rewatching the show with this in might, made it seem very plausible that Kaos wasn’t as old as I first assumed. But be my guest to prove he is indeed older, I would very much appreciate that. 

The only thing that really speaks against him being under 18, is his mothers complaints about him living with her.

Skylanders Academy might not be the strongest show with something like continuity, and the staff might not even have had a set age in mind when they wrote the show. But if someone could confirm or deny some sort of age, that would be neat.

I don’t know if I’m just slow, or if it’s something new, but I found out if I changed the language on Netflix, I can watch the shows in that language. It seems reasonable enough, so I might just have been stupid slow, but this would have been so handy in 2016 when I binged Skylanders again and again, as I was only able to hear it in English, Danish and German. Now... I can hear it in Norwegian, Japanese, every language that’s available, and that makes me kinda hype. Just finished watching through the first season (in English, that was before I new about this) Going to watch the second as well, so I’m ready for season three! Maybe I’ll post some thoughts on my rewatch at some point? It’s been about a year since my last rewatch, of both seasons. I don’t know if my hype died after season two, or if it felt kinda intimidating to watch it again, but I’m looking forward to rewatch it in the next couple of days!
