long version: so basically what I was grumbling about in a post the other day was that in mid-to-late May I was supposed to be undertaking a massive move across what would be the equivalent of multiple U.S. states and had secured well ahead of time (like back in the fall of last year) a ride for me and a bunch of my stuff as Iām on disability and canāt afford big moves normally, and this was a huge relief at the time and a weight off my mind about costsĀ
however that ride has fallen through, and to not make this post longer than it is I wonāt get into it, this person is mostly just unthinking with the details around this and what it means for me to scramble last minute to figure out transport for myself and my stuff across such a huge distance and prioritizing their own specific plans in a way that I donāt think they even think about fucks me over and itās whatever Iāll talk to them about it later but for now? I need to crowdfund!Ā
I have done some frantic budgeting and calculations, scouted out some the cheapest possible options I could find for both transporting myself and my stuff, and itās looking kind of grim tbhĀ
I am going to need at least $800 more than Iām going to have ready at hand by the time I need to move in MayĀ
this move is incredibly important, some of you may know I spent time in a rural-beyond-rural area in the woods, way up in the mountains, last year from June to October helping build an earthship with good friends and comradesā¦and, well, Iām going out again but this time basically for good! and it is a move that I desperately need for so many reasons, for my mental health and for my physical health and to be able to finally save money month to month unlike here in the city where, on disability amounts, I really just canātĀ
the irony is after just a handful of months out there, Iāll have saved enough to be able to make up these amounts, but moving and transport costs are all up front affairs, I canāt pay them later for this and need to be out there for end of May at the absolute latest for our build timelines! I am hopeful this will be the last donation post like this Iām ever going to have to make, as Iāll finallyĀ be saving money out there for the first time in like a decade, and living among anti-capitalists who are good friends (who Iād be turning to for this $$ if we werenāt all broke af and having funds already tangled up in the building of this earthship out there) in a place of immense natural beauty that was so good for my heart and soul last year all summer longĀ
