I love the confrontation between Mary and Lizzie in episode seven. Lizzie is stunned because it never occurred to her that Mary’s experience was different than her own. Mary points out how Lizzie was celebrated and respected whereas she was not. Mary is visibly pained, on the verge of tears as the anger and resentment pour out. Then she lashes out at Lizzie and by the end of the scene, they’re both hurt.
But Lizzie pulls a Mr. Darcy (book version).
She reflects on what Mary said. She reevaluates their upbringing and the role she played in Mary’s isolation. Then she does better! Lizzie doesn’t sit idly by as Mrs. Bennet criticizes, berates, and exerts control over Mary. Lizzie takes action. She invites Mary’s biggest supporters to Pemberly — Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner.
Lizzie does this off-screen, just like Mr. Darcy does in the book (someone he respects points out his shortcomings so he resolves to fix them). Now that Lizzie is aware of how her indifference hurt Mary, she is determined to be more present and supportive to her sister - not just with words but actions as well.
she is so beautiful and gorgeous and pretty and and

I love how The Other Bennet Sister was constantly showing Mary and Tom be just bad at things.
The way they were counting their steps while dancing. The stumbling over each other's words. Her inability to paint. His awful drawings.
I adore them. Just the absolute cringefail couple of my dreams.
