making new side blog for twilight but does anyone ever get the yikes with crossovers? like the glazing of the main character is insane that's not normal and i especially see this with twilight and hp crossovers.
i was reading like a happy-go-lucky maiden ignorant to how crossovers worked. i thought it would be a story of two worlds colliding together, where the characters would be able to meet each other. kind of like infinity war, if that makes sense?
i absolutely love the genre but i can't read them without cringing.
what's with the bella bashing? what's with the holier than you attitude? smack downs never looked so unappealing in my life. i never understood the absolute oocness that many fic writers take in order to make a derivative story.
take hp/twilight crossovers for example. extremely popular, i absolutely adore both chronicles and saga. why the hell is post war hermione bashing bella for being a normal teenager out of the blue? and acting pick-me like an annoying little shit?
“ but hermione was a pick me ” — hermione was awkward. she was a girl who liked reading, strategies and puzzles and riddles. the majority kids of her age preferred to run outside and girls her age liked to talk about romance and fashion. people forget that she was been made fun of and excluded from her peers for ages, and then they act surprised when a 13 year old shows resentment with the things associated to her own ostracisation?
even ron and harry were closer due to the fact that they were boys and could share common experiences together. yet despite the many differences and arguments they had with hermione, they were her best friends because they saved and accepted her as she was.
many interpreted this as "i'm not like other girls" — is this the truth though? many girls are like hermione, they are just the minority. that doesn't mean they don't exist in the verse we literally see so many female characters.
was she judgemental? oh, absolutely and i don't believe anyone would deny that. my problem is if hermione was a man people would not be seeing her judging as something bad but something 'resourceful.'
oh, hermes doesn't like incompetence. he doesn't like vain people. hermes values intelligence and courage, loyalty and competence. hermes finds himself more drawn to the intellectually serious individuals and the ones who appear genuine.
god forbid a woman is like that though. women are not allowed to have flaws. for a male character, his flaws are romanticised and beaten around the bush. for female characters however, she's the devil incarnate.
do you think a character like that who has received character development— POST WAR HERMIONE — will see bella and instead of sitting down to listen to her, she will start saying the most ridiculous of things?
the wattpadification of bella swan needs to be studied. they took the satire awkwardness from kristen stewart's portrayal, multiplied it, and erased bella's character off the map.
yes because god forbid someone reads a fanfic expecting to see the characters they loved actually being the characters they loved, you will also preach to me about how it's not that serious.
i hate the normies in the fandoms nowadays. can't like or dislike anything anymore because there is a mean girl who tries to act like a botchified version of regina george everywhere. if you are passionate about something they will start mocking you.
