Bury me in a field of flowers

Bury me where the fireflies dance

And the sun shines

Bury me in the fault-line where happiness begins and sadness ends.

Bury me where my laughter will echo in the breeze

Where the sunrise makes the world stop spinning in its beauty.

If I die tomorrow

Let it be beautiful

Let it be everything my life was not.

Her future was like a memory and her past a glaring reminder of the present.

Attempting to take my love of poetry and try my hand at it myself-

There once was a girl,

she dreamed all the dreams

Her dreams weren’t the normal sort

Rather than flying through the clouds

Reaching for the stars

And dancing in fields of flowers

Instead she dreamed of bigger things

Of starting a business

Or owning a firm

And winning the Nobel prize

You see

Though normal dreams were appealing

The girl knew what was more important

She knew if she dreamed the biggest dreams

And kept them in her heart

She would one day make these dreams her reality.

And so she did

She started her business

Offering help to many

Feeding the poor and changing the world

She made her dream a reality

She graduated valedictory

She opened her firm, the best firm in the state

She made her dream a reality

The girl studied hard

Researching day and night

She found the cure for this awful disease

A disease so terrible people no longer dared to dream.

She won her Nobel peace prize

She made her dream a reality.

The young girl is all of us

Daring to dream big dreams

Reaching out

Making our dreams a reality.

No longer listening to what we can and can’t do

Dare to dream the biggest dreams

Dare to make them a reality

Find the young girl hidden deep inside your heart.

And set her free.
