wow it's been a while
at least since i actually posted something more than a reblog or something like "sorry this blog is dead now lol"
but i just scrolled through this blog for the first time in years and. damn. throwback to the terf brigade, that was fucked up. and that brief period of time when i wanted to be an animal jam blog lol
but what disturbed me is how much of an asshole i used to be. i used to be so bitter and shitty about my opinions. i was defensive to the point of being offensive, hate-scrolling through trendercore hashtags and leaving shitty comments under posts of people who literally didn't even know i existed before that.
for a while i've been cringing every time i think back on how hostile i was, but like. shit. i didn't remember being that bad??
i really just want to apologize for being such a little shithead back then. i've stopped letting online discourse affect me so much and have come to accept that people are going to think differently from me. i'm still a transmed and exclu, but i absolutely believe every LGBT person has their place in the community and deserves support and love. i'm really sorry that i didn't understand that back then. i'm sorry for every shitty thing i did because of my beliefs. and i wish more people could learn to get past discourse and just. think about how everyone has their own individual experiences and feelings.
it's normal for someone to get upset when people disagree with them on beliefs they're passionate about, but if it gets to the point that it is negatively affecting your mental health or even physical health, it's super important to step back from discourse, and understand that most of it is just meaningless arguments. the LGBT community is full of different experiences and beliefs and just individuals. it's never going to be a hivemind or share all identical beliefs and that's a good thing.
be tolerant.
