// Tumblr’s new guidelines

So everyone is pretty much aware what’s happening this week with the new community guidelines so I just wanted to do a quick little PSA regarding this account.

I have a personal tumblr blog like many others, and it’s my safe space to be my true self without fear of judgement from people I know IRL. Over the years I’ve had it I’ve been able to explore and shape my sexuality, explore kinks and knowledge of my body that I haven’t been able to find elsewhere. It really shaped me as a person and now all that is being taken away from me and many others.

And I understand that it started from some really horrific things and that sort of thing should without a doubt not be on tumblr, but consenting adults posting adult content to their personal blogs is not in the same as exploitation. Tumblr is basically setting a standard of saying that being your whole self is not okay, that unless it’s family friendly your thoughts aren’t free to share.

That is not okay.

This blog should meet the new standards in the guideline (save maybe a couple of ask replies) so I am not worried about losing this page, but my personal blog would be heavily censored. Because of this I am boycotting tumblr. My personal blog will be deleted, I will keep this one up only because the content is relative to @thatsrealpainrightthere ‘s page and the storyline has been thoughtfully crafted. But I will not be actively posting or contributing to the blog at all until this censorship of healthy adult sexuality is stopped.

I am not alone in this protest, I join many others in taking a stand.

Let’s hope we speak again but if not it’s been a pleasure, I’ve enjoyed interacting with you all and answering your questions. Thank you for enjoying reading this blog as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it.

What’s your least favorite thing to cook?

Good question! I would have to say it’s custard (if that counts) because the smell and visual brings me back to all my lactose intolerance misfortunes. If it doesn’t count then perhaps duck dishes, it’s very easy to cook duck wrong-I’m a bit of a perfectionist with my cooking.

Do you guys ever fight? I mean you’ve been friends forever, you gotta fight sometimes. And do you and Michael ever have couple fights? Lol

Of course we fight. I don’t know any group of people that could be around each other as much as we are and not fight. Same goes for “couple” fights. The thing is they are insignificant and don’t last long at all, our friendship (and my relationship) means more than individual egos.

If Tweek and Craig were the first gay kids at your school does that mean you weren’t out yet? Or did people just not give a shit about you?

I didn’t exactly shout from the rooftops or “come out” to the school. If anyone would ask I would gladly tell them I was gay but those people didn’t give a shit about me any other day, why would I care if they knew my sexuality or not?

How are thing Pete?

Things are good. I’m working a lot, which I love and Michael is working a lot too. We’re saving for a house deposit hence the hectic schedules.

You and Michael make a cute couple! But I gotta admit, I never saw Michael as gay. You screamed it, but he sure didn’t. I always thought he’d end up with Henrietta.

It surprised us somewhat too. I’ve been open from a young age with my sexuality, but not everyone knows from a young age like I did-which I presume is why elementary age Michael didn’t come across as gay. In saying that Michael can still “pass” as straight and he’s certainly not as obviously gay unless you ask or know him.

Also thank you, I think we make a good couple too.

I know you’ve left South Park, and you say you hate that town, but is there a part of you that has any feelings for it in a good way? Take a look at a picture of the town or something and don’t tell me you don’t feel something good? It’s your childhood town!

In some ways, you’re right. I do look at pictures of South Park, like the one below, and some pretty incredible memories flood my mind. I remember things like camping under the stars by the Cemetery. Watching the sunrise over the mountains everyday with my friends. Breaking into cars just to steal cigarettes. Smelling the fresh air that only small towns tend to have.

I mean, South Park was where I had my first kiss. Where I lost my virginity. Where I fell in love… It’s always going to be something to me.

But those good memories, they just don’t outweigh the bad, and that’s something that’s made me bitter towards the town.

By itself, without all the crap, South Park is beautiful. And perhaps one day, my friends and I will find some other small town somewhere that gives us that bit of peace and quiet back, because we sure do miss it.

Just not South Park. Never South Park….

Also, is it true that when you have kids your sex life declines? I don’t want that to happen to me lol!

I wouldn’t say just kids are the reason for a sex life decline… Any activity that takes a lot of time or energy from you will contribute to a decline in bedroom activity. So in a way, yes. You’re tired by the time it’s bedtime, and you don’t always have the opportunity for free time during the day/ morning and sometimes you’re just so worn out from being constantly touched or whatever that you just want to be left alone. So yeah, that’s the reality, a child is a huge commitment and will spend most of your time and energy.

BUT intimacy and a strong relationship doesn’t mean your sex life needs to stay the same the whole time. Just laying together and talking, or holding each other deepens the intimacy and connection you have. If sex happens that’s awesome but if it’s been a while it’s not the end of the world, as long as you continue to show love and care for your partner you’ll be fine!

Another year passes, and so many more to come. Happy 4th birthday to our son, Oliver.

I still can’t believe we now throw birthday parties and interact with other parents. Ten years ago we would of laughed at the thought of ever doing such things.

I’d like to thank my Father-In-Law for lending us his backyard for the party. Our apartment just isn’t big enough.

Any advice for someone who wants to come out but is too scared?

It took a long time for me to come out, too. Before you can, you must ask yourself “do I accept it?”

I had a lot of difficulty accepting my sexuality, and so for the longest time I was just in denial.

If you do accept yourself, ask yourself why you’re afraid. Is it how certain people will react? Is it fear of change? There’s so many reasons as to why someone can remain in the closet.

I don’t have any “advice”, but I can tell you this:

“If you live for people’s acceptance; you will die from their rejection.”
