Whumpees whose powers/magic are so integral to them that that blocking the abilities is like blocking their breathing. The same power-dampening tech or anti-magic that weakens others will kill them within hours.
What happens if they are captured? Do they desperately explain that the standard protocol isn’t going to work, and promise to obey without it? Are they sedated? Restrained more tightly in other ways? More importantly, are they even believed?
And if the dampener is activated, how long does it take their captors to realize that the whumpee wasn’t lying?
as much as I love whumpees who are just absolutely knocked out by their illness, there's something equally great about whumpees who are just barely there. their eyes are still open a sliver, and when caretaker moves across the room they track their movements lazily. they don't have the energy to speak but they don't need to- the pained look in their eyes and the weak groans they're able to make tell the story well enough.
they're not conscious, but they're not unconscious either. they're just... in between. drifting. too sick to be alert but also too sick to fall asleep comfortably.
all caretaker can do is sit by their side with a washcloth to gently wipe the sheen of sweat from their forehead and soothe them with reassurances that, judging by that glazed look in their eyes, caretaker isn't quite sure they can even understand.

Get thrown against a wall, causing them to faint
Shakily get to their feet, only to fall back down as they try to walk
Ask for something just before they faint, especially if they trail off whilst speaking (“Sorry, could you quickly fetch me a…” *plonk*)

as much as I love badass characters pushing through pain to fight, I also love when they hit a point where they just can't. something structural is wrong or broken, so they can't stand. their muscles are simply too weak and overworked to hold them up. their bloody hands slip off the handles of their weapons, they can't aim through their vertigo or tunneling vision, they shake from blood loss or exhaustion even if not from fear. they've just reached their limit, and no amount of willpower will change that!

maybe this is revealing of my own hangups but tbh mind reading powers should be portrayed as Fucked Up in media more often!
casual, constant mind reading from someone who can't turn their powers off—no one around them has ANY privacy, not even in their inner monologue. every impulsive, unconscious, crude or cruel thought is now on display, judged by someone who may not have any context for it.
or or or mind reading as a brute force attack, shattering the victim's mind, stripping them of their secrets, their own mind no longer a sanctuary. the attack leaving them traumatized and potentially damaged psychologically.
mind reading as a violation, as a destruction of safety, as a removal of autonomy.
no more mind readers as kindly, wise, knowing mentors, please—i want violent, manipulative, dangerous, and out of control psychics!!!
Magical healing and comfort, but not just healing magic
A character with fire/heat powers massaging a knotted muscle with hot hands, being able to dig in nice and deep as the warmth relaxes the area
A character with ice/cold powers carding their fingers through someone's hair, soothing a headache
A character with hypnotic powers lulling someone into a trance and clearing their mind, easing their anxieties so they can hopefully get some sleep
A character with plant magic keeping a bouquet fresh and vibrant by their friend's bedside, knowing the colors will at the very least cheer them up and give them something beautiful to look at
A character with water magic combining it with a soft cloth washing away tears, sweat, or blood from another character's face
A character with electricity magic frantically grabbing someone near-death and shocking them, refusing to move until they hear their heart leap back to life and pulse under their hands
