I saw a thing where Hermoine is black and Harry’d be Indian and hell yeah, more diversity. Why not?

Idris Elba: Speech on diversity in the media and film
I’m here to talk about diversity. Diversity in the modern world is more than just skin colour. It’s gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, social background, and - most important of all, as far as I’m concerned – diversity of thought. Because if you have genuine diversity of thought among people making TV & film, then you won’t accidentally shut out any of the groups I just mentioned.

Peter Joseph on structural violence, from this video.
Brilliant
Spot on. Like Coretta Scott King said, I must remind you that starving a child is violence. Neglecting school children is violence. Punishing a mother and her family is violence. Discrimination against a working man is violence. Ghetto housing is violence. Ignoring medical need is violence. Contempt for poverty is violence.

Wookie the Chew: Star Wars Figures Reimagined as Winnie the Pooh Characters by James Hance
In honor of A.A. Milne’s birthday, the author of Winnie-the-Pooh, we introduce James Hance’s tender and nostalgic series with a Star Wars twist called “Wookie the Chew.” The Florida-based illustrator reimagines a world, where Star Wars and Winnie-the-Pooh mesh to create an Imperial fantasy of friendship.
Starring Chewbacca as Pooh Bear, Luke Skywalker as Christopher Robin, and Eeyore as an Imperial Walker, Hance’s pieces capture the benevolence and the solidarity and genuine friendship shared by one of the most beloved children’s story.
With the use of water color paper and comic markers, the original prints contain the vintage and nostalgic sensibility found in a Winnie the Pooh story. Drawn in black, the artist uses red and yellow accents to highlight the themes of love and happiness found in Milne’s narrative. Each portrait is originally signed and depicts a bond between friends, who enjoy each others’ company. You can find the entire collection in his Etsy shop.
