How would you describe what Sasuke went through after the massacre? He was left to deal with the trauma all on his own, nobody offered to help him get through it and nobody reached out to him, the villagers looked away and kept to themselves, they would talk about the incident and about how he survived it but none of them would offer him any kind of help dealing with it, not even the teachers at the academy or the Hokage. 

Little Sasuke used to enter the Uchiha district and cry endlessly at the crime scene where his parents were killed, was there a scene where someone reached out to wipe his tears? Nope, nobody cared. He used to sit all alone by the lake talking to himself and even throwing himself into the water, did anyone consider checking on him for once? Maybe just ask him if he’s taking care of himself? Nope, the only one who looked his way was Naruto, that’s it. Why do you think Naruto thought they were the same? Because Sasuke too was always alone.

This is what he means when he says he was shunned for being an Uchiha, he doesn’t talk about it or remember it every now and then the way Naruto does but it’s still the truth. It’s just that the story didn’t show much of it so it was easy to miss, we’ve met him after he’s managed to pull himself together, not before.

So there’s this movie that recently popped up on my recommended list on Netflix called “Mune: Guardian of the Moon” and I absolutely loved it… The world building and character design was all so beautiful. Please watch it.
