I had a overnight pass from my drug treatment program and went to my mother’s house. Being in the house that I grew up in and lived in during active addiction and that I experienced so much trauma and self destruction in can be triggering for me. I kept remembering things that I wish I didn’t. Thoughts about drug use and painful memories. I love visiting home but wow does it take a toll on me.
