Hispanic Heritage Month started this week. My grandfather’s birthday is also this week. My mom still has a hard time dealing with his passing, so I don’t want to bring his birthday up irl, this is my way to celebrate him in my own way.

I love him in Full Vigilante suit with visor up (iirc, the only time we see him with mask on visor up is when he takes over Peacemaker’s sniper duty in ep...3?)

Couple things I learned... I still don’t know how to draw below the clavicle, I was gonna buy another month of Skillshare but money’s tight these days.

Black on black is hard to do.

He looks just like my last Kisame portrait. 😓

I’m getting a better hang of layers, coloring was a little easier this time than my last portrait. I actually like the color his eyes came out to be, even if they do look wonky af.

And coloring skin is hard. 

And lastly, I’m not gonna use the #acweek22 in the tags, because even though I feel like I’ve made personal progress (and all things considered, I like this piece), I still think this is too ugly to share in a fandom event. If ppl just find this in the character tag, its w/e (as if anyone wouldn’t just scroll past it anyways), but Idk, i’d feel embarrassed by this if I was one of the Peacemakernet mods. so 🤷‍♀️🧜‍♂️

Pirate!Kisame for Day 3, Dark and stormy night, of the @kisames-corner Kisame birthday event.

So it turns out learning how to draw involves learning what you need to learn. From just how to draw in general to how work the digital art program. If you squint you can see the “glow” effect on the lightning, but it just isn’t as vibrant as the tutorials I looked up and IDK why :( 

Also first time I’ve tried to make a background. I’d call it half successful? 

And my skillshare free trial ran out before I could finish lessons on anatomy so I guess I’m sticking to chest up drawings for a bit lol.

i’m still stuck on my Kisame birthday celebration WIP. 

I feel like when I’m stuck like this with writing, it’s because I don’t have a fully formed idea of what I want to write. But this is a different kind of frustrating because I KNOW what I see when I think of the picture in my head, but I don’t know how to get there. I just lack the vocabulary to do what I want. 

I might not finish by the deadline :(

I finally get around to working on my Kisame birthday WIP again and someone decides nope, not tonight!

Acrylic paint on wood.

My parents are gonna set up a couple of beehives (they’ve already had 1 for a few years now) and my mom wanted to paint them before we got the bees. I guess this is like an in memoriam piece, as all these dogs have passed. This hive is two boxes deep and I had a rough sketch on paper of a scene with the pets that are still alive, but the nephew was there too and took over the bottom box.

(those are rough collies, btw. idk i think they look a little like haunted dogs or something, but my mom said she liked them)
