Im not saying both canāt exist, im not saying you canāt like the ship. What i am saying is that it is worth it to question why you are inclined to entirely ignore and write out someone who is very central to Cazās character and storyline. I do like Cazsuzebilly, I do like Cazbilly, and thatās actually the reason I bring this up. When i first started with that ship, i myself was displaying casual misogyny about it. It wasnāt until someone pointed it out that I noticed and was able to actually put in the effort not to do that. It happens, misogyny is incredibly prevalent.
Both ships can exist, I am not saying they canāt. I am saying that the current fandom treatment of it is casually misogynistic. And im not saying you canāt ship shortfuse, I am just saying be aware of these things.

people treat the media they like differently and focus on different aspects,

I mean i hate to break it to you but yes, it is. It is casually misogynistic to completely ignore an entire aspect of a characterās story because it relates to a female character. You can think whatever you want about the story, about how they write it, and interpret it however you want, but it very much is misogynistic to ignore Suzeās role completely.
I want to reiterate im not trying to attack you or anyone in any way, im not saying the ship canāt exist or that youāre doing anything bad by enjoying it. I am just trying to point out the underlying misogyny of how Suze gets treated.

No actually, that would fall more under actually malicious misogyny. Casually misogyny is stuff like defaulting to he/him pronouns for genderless things, strangers, or animals. Assuming maleness is the default. Itās casual, itās easily unnoticed, it is not malicious or usually intentional but it does still do harm.
Itās cool that you imagine Caz and Rennick together, I have no problem with that. And i was never even personally saying it was you or only you that does this. because while that would probably be fine in a vacuum we do not live in a vacuum. All misogyny harms because all misogyny reaffirms in your own head that woman are lesser. No it may not be severe but it is not nothing. Throwing Suze completely to the side in a situation that she wasn't physically present in but still very important to (the letters, Caz's own feelings) is always gonna be misogynistic.

It's not that both can't exist or that liking a queer ship is inheriently the issue; it's that caz abd rennick as a pairing often doesn't explore anything regarding Suze or her character and effectively ignores her for the sake of the ship, despite her connection to Caz and his reason for being at the rig in the first place.
I feel like immediately jumping to these points is also taking the original statement and discussion in remarkably bad faith and saying things that were not said.

Sad Scribble no one said it was bad to put him with a man we said it was bad to shove away the female character to do so. And yeah, this happens in large fandoms, and yeah guess what it sucks there too! Like the size doesn't change that it sucks ever and trust me I know it happens plenty and it always sucks.
Also, please don't assume the content or creator balance of ships, because I can assure you I've actually seen a lot more Shortfuse creators, content, and supporters then I ever have for Cazsuze, and keep in mind that shortfuse is a much more recent ship in comparison.

Once again, never said it was a problem to like things outside of canon, the issue is entirely ignoring that she exists and erasing her from the narritive because it does a disservice to the story to do so. If you wish to do so and explore a world in which Caz and Suze never were together, sure, all the power to you, but when the case is him running away from her it does undersell it to just never really even acknowledge that that was a thing, at least to me

And again, no, it's not inheriently bad to not ship them, but like. A lot of people once again just will not look into her character or how she affects Caz as a person when writing about Shortfuse in any capacity. No acknowledgement of the family he left behind, no talk about him leaving her, just acting as though she and the family he made with her by extent never existed. Like she was simply erased from the timeline in favor of getting Shortfuse together. Which, while it may not seem bad, is actually casually misogynistic and is treating one of the few woman characters we have in the narritive as nothing more then a obstacle to be erased rather then a actual character who would have her own effects on the world around her.
Also once again just. When was this a hatepost? I want you to look back at the post and tell me where you see any sort of hate or bashing towards the ship or people who ship it.
Tl;dr the issue is, again, not the ship itself but how people treat the other supporting characters in relation to the ship and in particular the erasure of a female character entirely in favor of a gay ship.
If they never got together, sure, that's another thing, but like no one is specifying if that's the case or not and we're not all on the same wavelength
