"As long as you bear the name Nijiku, you will always remain the clan's ward," Kyouka proclaimed decisively, her tone leaving seemingly no room for protests.
Unfortunately, Zanka was over obeying her every word. Or rather, he'll follow her instructions - to the letter, not the spirit.
"My family name is the last claim the Hell Guard has on me? Well, that seems to be easily rectifiable, doesn't it? Boss, gimme a couple days off and I'll take care of this issue."
"Of course, Zanka," Arkha smiled benelovently. He probably had some questions but he's awesome and therefore totally willing to aid and abett Zanka's bullshit without needing an explanation. Then again, knowing boss? He probably has a pretty good idea of what Zanka is about to do. "Where will we be able to contact you? I assume you're leaving your choker at the base."
Man, boss really is the best.
Zanka smirked. "Assuming everything goes well, I should end up at Canvas Town. I'll probably also stop at the Stilza Clinic at some point."
"What are you doing, Zanka?" Kyouka asked flatly. She was unused to being ignored. Comes with her position. Too bad Zanka just doeasn't care anymore.
"I'm going to get married, obviously." He left the room before anyone could react. After all, he needed to hunt down August to get some clothes suitable for the occasion. That, and some engagement jewlery. Maybe earrings? The person he choose as his husband-to-be wouldn't accept a ring.
After all, if Zanka's aim is to completely alienate himself from his blood family, it follows that his partner must be suitably outrageous. Someone like Jabber Wonger, the masochistic raider who personally put Zanka in Eisha's care multiple times.
Zanka couldn't contain his smile. He fought with Jabber enough times to know the man was a kindred spirit. That is to say, a total asshole. There is no way he wouldn't be down to piss of the entirety of the Nijiku family.
