if you’re takeaway after watching xo kitty is that yuri deserved better and juliana was the “toxic” one then i have a diagnosis for you and it begins with the letter r. because no way y’all took juliana being insecure and jealous about kittyuri (which she obviously had every right to be given that yuri did cheat on her with kitty) as her being malicious?

every time i see this ss i think about how supercorp and karamel stans both went into the supergirl finale with this energy:

like they were each so confident that they were going to get last minute fan serviced (well the twitter side of the fandom was idk about anywhere else) like kara ending the show single wasn’t the most predictable part of the finale, especially after monel left the show and later came back married and any romantic storyline of hers wasn’t given as much attention afterwards

—which was fine by me seeing as the only kara ships i remember liking were silly little fanon ones (superwest, superlane, and superdreamer they didn’t get you like i did) but still sad when iirc kara really wanted to find her person </3

is the issue really whether Melissa is 'working with' her husband again or is it that she hired him for a show she is producing and bought his script when clearly all her other efforts to secure him work have failed? this is an old pattern of hers.

i mean sure that can be annoying for those who aren’t fans of him but some of the discourse stemming from that is just weird.

the issue *i* was referring to is how weirdly parasocial fans have been towards melissa (and her marriage) for years, to the point where even her own baby was being hated on by her so-called fans. also after knowing everything she has gone through and to still be rooting for her marriage to be terrible or creating scenarios of her husband being terrible to her is weird (especially when that hatred for him is seemingly because he played a terrible character on a cw dctv show once or it being certain fans’ getting too deep into meltie rpf😭)

I think it's interesting how there's only frustration for Jacob now, but nothing about Delainey that also got snubbed, for Assad who wasn't even acknowledged by AMC on the (GG) FYC campaigns, people saying they wanted Armand to get raped on screen, the fans that went to plantations plural to make a photoshoot with Brad Pitt's Louis doll, the fans that threw a The Vampire Lestat shirt at a Raleigh Ritchie's concert while he was talking etc... This wasn't the first and probably won't be the last. And most of the time this fandom is crickets. And one sentence isn't enough, just like "Sam will probably call them out during his acceptance speech" isn't enough, just like only praising actors for their chemistry with white co-stars and never for their own individual work isn't enough. You see very little posts today and I doubt there will be any by tomorrow night. People will move on quickly just like they did with the previous events. So, I'm sorry, but this isn't impressive and just feels extremely performative.

so i occasionally lurk on iwtvtwt since i only have a private acc ever since #that man bought the app and …. it’s been HELL omg

the hoops some of y’all jump through to demonize louis and victimize armand and/or lestat is crazy— we did not watch the same show 😭

like you all understand that louis (in both relationships) is the victim and that they are his abusers right? louis fighting back or reacting to their abuse by being mean or “withholding his love” is not “mutual abuse”. the same “armand/lestat just wanted louis to love them😞” excuse is always used too as if that’s any justification. love your favorite/comfort characters and all but c’mon now???

and then some of y’all are just flat out racist and basically would’ve sat there and clapped along with the audience while the paris coven put on their racist and vilification depiction of claudia and louis… (which is also wild when you think about how lestat literally owns up to being abusive when he goes off script but then here come some of his stans claiming he never was— again, we are not watching the same show😭)

then there’s those that seem to think that because armand never physically hurt louis that that made him “better” than lestat or “less abusive” and then it becomes a whole abuser off ??? like do y’all hear yourselves?

i get it’s fiction but the themes of the show very much aren’t???
