Do you know how many dogs I’ve met that get scared or anxious around men because in their previous home men hit them? A lot, and they are very protective of the women who have adopted them now.

Men who are violent towards women are often violent towards animals as well. They think we’re all chattel. If a man wants you to choose between your dog or cat or him, dump the guy. Those animals will love you for the rest of your life, loyal and true.

Actually, I have something to add.

The other day I saw a story where a woman was asking why her dogs had suddenly started growling at her boyfriend whenever he was in the same room as her son.

And my immediate thought was ‘that boyfriend has hurt the kid somehow.’

Spoilers: that was exactly the case.

The first time my sister came to visit, via plane, after I got my dog, pupper growled at her and wouldn’t go near her for the first day. Next visit was by car (two day drive)and pupper LOVED my sister. They snuggled and played and none of us could figure out why the change. We thought maybe the scent of my sisters cat had lingered on her clothes, making that first visit a rough one. Whereas when she came by car, the scent had had time to wear off. Well that was partially true…

Fast forward about six months when I went north to visit my family. My sister walked into my parents’ house and pupper ran to greet my sister. Stopped dead in her tracks and started growling and barking. Hackles raised, full protection mode. My sisters husband had just walked in behind her.

My precious puppy wanted NOTHING to do with him. She barked, growled, ran away, and sat between him and my sister. Y'all my dog had spent maybe a weekend a half around my sister but protected her like this was her flesh and blood.

Eventually, my sister filed for divorce on grounds of “Extreme and repeated mental, emotional, and sexual abuse.” Divorce was final in less than a month because her claims were substantiated.

Trust the dog, honey. They KNOW.

I’ve never owned dogs, but I used to work with horses (which are a lot like big dogs).

There was this one horse I worked with named Tonto. He was a doll. He followed me like a puppy, snuck treats out of my pocket, he was the sweetest thing. We were practically inseparable.

A guy I was considering dating came to visit me one day, and Tonto wanted NOTHING to do with him. Normally well behaved, he shoved himself between us and would NOT let this guy near me. He was stomping, acting really aggressive, and tried to bite the guy. This horse was practically dragging me back toward the barn. At that moment, despite being like, 17, I knew something was up, and ultimately things didn’t pan out for guy and me.

A year later I found out he had lied about his age (he said he was 18 but he was actually 27) he was arrested for sexually assaulting an 11 year old girl.

so weightwatchers released an app for kids - a diet app for kids (!!!!) down to the age of eight (8) years old.

this is literally an app that is supposed to have children track their food intake, and their energy output, every damn day, with the purpose of them losing weight. it does before and after photos, and uses this system that is a “stoplight system”, so bad foods are red, medium is yellow and good is green.

when you sign up you have to put in your goal and one of the choices is “to make my parents proud”.

this is basically an app designed to shame children, and indoctrinate eating disorders into them.

what the hell is wrong with people????!!!!

also, apparently oprah is supporting this shit so screw her.

i am so damn mad. this is child abuse, and the weightwatchers cult is making money off of it.

I want every fucking fool who’s like “kids being obese is bad for your weight” and “omg it’s teaching kids good eating habits” to know that ¼ people total who diet end up with eating disorders. Ppl with eating disorders will tell you they were not being healthy or in a good place. This is not a good thing. This is not a healthy thing. Obsessively counting every bit of food you eat is literally not good. Also you people are all fucking evil assholes for pushing that on kids and thinking it’s a good thing.

Listen, childhood obesity is a really big issue that does need to be addressed, but (speaking as someone who has had disordered eating patterns from a very young age, resulting eventually in full blown anorexia and bulimia) this is NOT the way to go about it

As someone with an eating disorder, I have to tell you that, although childhood obesity is a big problem, this shouldn’t be a thing. And fuccing trust me when I say that those kids can and will develop eating disorders.

Your kid is obese / overweight? Take them to a nutritionist / dietitian.

Reblog to save his life

This is Rhys, my 2 year old cat

You can do whatever you want with him, he never bites or scratches anyone and he loves playing fetch and sucking on soft plushy blankets

Another cat has bitten him and gave him this bacteria called Pyo Thorax which causes fluid behind his lungs. It's a deadly condition, but thank god my mom and I noticed on time so he's now in an animal hospital where they're cleaning his lungs and

He's doing really well at the moment

Unfortuately, the bacteria won't completely be gone unless the vets do a surgery where they open up his chest and clean every little corner of the lungs so they know that all the bacteria are gone. Then again, Rhys is a strong lil man and he's doing fine so the surgery will, according to the vets, go well and he'll recover like any other cat.

But

The surgery is expensive and my mom, who has all the money for the surgery but planned on spending that money on buying new furniture for the house, thinks

"It's a waste of money to spend it all on a cat"

This is why mom wants to put him to sleep tomorrow

I'm not asking anyone here for money.

I'm asking if you can REBLOG this post to convince my mother that little Rhysie's life is worth the money and it's sad to give up on him because he is already getting so much better and he is just soo strong
