EMILY AXFORD/VESPER CHILDERS 🦇 Dimension 20: City Council of Darkness episode 1
Dimension 20: City Council of Darkness | Episode 2 "Blood, Business, and Beth's Husband"
watching as she replaced the photo, sonny watched for a moment before speaking up again, "uh oh. we got a guy being doodled with horns. want to tell me about it?"
once the headshot was sufficiently defaced with permanent marker, tawni used the pin to attach the picture to the dartboard. "there's not really much to say," she replied as if he wasn't her new dartboard victim. she returned the dartboard to its home before taking a few steps back. with darts in her hand, she took a deep breath. "cheating piece of shit!" she essentially screamed, throwing the first dart. "fucking loser! clout chaser! three-second disappointment! background actor! hair gel addicted goblin! not even six foot two!" she threw a dart after each insult until his face was full of darts.
"oh, i've had people do something like this because i am too nice and helpful." sonny stated as she thought of the past. "not to mention, someone has gone through the extremes to almost blow me up just for dating my ex boyfriend at the time." oh how the cheese ball bomb still haunts her dreams. "do you know anyone who would've done this?"
alex's face crinkled in thought. "so people can still be awful when you're good and helpful? so it's basically pointless?" a part of the brunette had always assumed as such, but it was nice to have a real example she could point to any time someone tried to convince her otherwise. her eyes widened at sonny's question, overwhelmed by the sheer amount of names that flew into her head. "i've pissed a lot of people off ... maybe we should start with who it can't be—"
the bright smile does not leave the lady bridgerton's face for even a moment, her heart melting at the sight, her dear grandson reaching out his hands for her so very eagerly. " oh, my dear, come here. come to your grandmama. " she coos to the boy, taking him from penelope and cuddling him to her chest. he seems to take an interest in her necklace right away, sparkly and jingling. " oh, i am only too happy to relieve you. " she teases her daughter-in-law, rocking elliot in her arms.
" how is your novel coming along, dear? colin told me you were very dedicated. i cannot begin to tell you how proud i am. " she has known this girl since she was so little, and always liked her, truthfully. she is only too happy to call her her daughter now.
the redhead's smile widens at the sight, ceaselessly thankful that her life has led her here. to this. she redirects her gaze from her son, who is utterly mesmerised by his grandmother's necklace, to violet herself. "i do not know where i would be without you." her words are sincere, but her tone takes on a teasing quality to match lady bridgerton's. "it is going well— that means a great deal to me. i truly hope that i have made you and your family proud, and continue to do so." there is only sincerity in her voice. "while it is strange to leave the shadows, i much prefer to live in the light ... but now, everyone is so tight-lipped around me. perfectly understandable, i suppose, but it is growing tiresome."
sonny blinked a few times. normally alex was up to something, but she believed her this time. "do you think it's someone you know or someone i know that did this?" if they end up on a scooby doo chase, then she guesses that she has no choice.
"i don't know—" her eyes follow sonny's, attempting to analyse the scene. "i think it's safe to assume this is about me ... unless people have been complaining about you being too nice? too helpful? like, what are the chances you have an evil twin running around?"
sonny watched all of tawni's actions. enough to have her expression soften. seeing her take down the dart board and the picture the other drew all over. "you're taking that down?"
"kind of—" she replied, setting the pin she found aside. she pulled out the latest headshot of her most recent ex and a permanent marker. fueled by her anger and frustration, she drew all over the headshot.
@wildschemes: liked and gets kate.
Kate had not seen Edwina for some time and in truth she was thrilled to see her. Even more so to see her thriving in her new environment. “I’m so happy to see you doing so well, Edwina,” Kate commented, a smile on her face. Coming back to India had been a reprieve. Anthony was even enjoying himself here too, though he was currently sleeping in after their travels, which she could not blame him. Kate herself was bursting with energy and eager to visit with her sister after being so long apart. “Speaking of, how are you doing? You know you can be honest with me.”
It truly warmed her heart to see her sister so happy and in love. Kate deserved to have everything she wanted. After her first rather eventful and scandalous season, Edwina wasn't sure what would become of them. If their relationship could withstand it all. They had both come so far from then; they were practically different people. Now, she was certain that everyone was finally where they needed to be. Even though she missed her sister desperately throughout the year. Her letters helped, but nothing was better than this — hearing her laugh and seeing her disapproving looks in person. "I can assure you that I am well," she nodded. "You do not need to worry about me. I enjoy living life on my own terms, but I have been thinking — perhaps I should like to visit you next season in Mayfair?"
@wildschemes any of your other disney channel muses!
"why are you looking at me like that?" sonny blinked a few times as she looked at the other, "i didn't whatever that is."
"well, neither did i." alex all but snapped back, returning her wand to her boot. "that is so weird ... should we call someone? or leave? cause i don't ever remember being here, do you?"
@wildschemes tawni hart
"want to tell me what you're doing over there?"
"—no ... not really." tawni had taken her sonny dart board down, removed the remaining darts and threw away sonny's picture. now, she was rifling through her desk to find another pin.
@wildschemes, daphne basset (bridgerton)
the duchess' visit is always such a special occasion, though she might no longer be viscountess, violet takes it upon herself to ensure everything is just right to receive her eldest daughter back home. all of her favourite treats set out on the tables, fresh flowers set out, filling the drawing room at bridgerton house with most pleasant scents. and at last, when the carriage stops and the doors open, she is there, awaiting with a warm smile and open arms.
" daphne! " the dowager does not wait, for she might be a woman grown, but she is still her daughter. so she is pulled into a tight embrace. " hello, dearest. oh, it has been too long. "
"mama!" she rushes forward before another word is said. her arms wrap around her mother, giving her a gentle squeeze, as if to prove she is really here. she is finally home. "oh, how i've missed you." while daphne adores her life in clyvedon with simon, she sorely misses her family. letters, however lovely and detailed, do little to soothe her nerves. she can never be sure what is true and what is a kinder version of events. "it has been much too long." she adds, refusing to let go of her mother. perhaps she should consider letting go. she is a married woman now. a duchess, no less. however, in this moment, there is only space for her to be one thing — a daughter returning to her mother's side.
@wildschemes, penelope bridgerton (featherington)
" penelope! " the dowager viscountess focuses her eyes on her daughter-in-law, an ever-present warm smile upon her lips. she had been admiring the change in the featherington house entry hall. the dreadful green replaced by navy blue and gold, a very regal combination indeed. penelope is proving herself more and more to have quite the impeccable taste, when not impeded by her mother.
" oh, i apologize for the sudden visit. i hope i am not interrupting. i was on my way back from the modiste, and could not deny myself a visit with you, and eliott. " she cannot help but notice that whenever portia is around, she does not get nearly enough of a chance to hold her grandson. she would very much like to rectify that.
a wide smile tugs at her lips upon seeing her beloved mother-in-law. it's always a treat to see her. penelope often thought of her as a second mother, even before she and colin married. the dowager viscountess is warm and unjudgmental, unlike her own mother. she could never admit that to anyone, of course, but she held their friendship in high esteem. approaching violet with elliot, penelope's gaze darts between the two. a part of her still can't believe this is real. she is married to the love of her life; their love created the most perfect little boy. "please," she shakes her head, "you need not apologise—" she chuckles as elliot coos and reaches for his grandmother almost instantly. "you simply have incredible timing," she pressed a gentle kiss to his temple, "it seems he has grown tired of me."
“ oh sweetie, no, you didn't make a mistake. ” her head gently shakes placing the towel she'd been folding back down on the pile of fresh from the dryer laundry. “ you made a decision based on what was best for you ─ that's never a mistake. ” she moves to rub her friend's shoulder, an attempt at reassurance. “ and trust me, what you're feeling is completely normal. i was terrified when i moved out on my own ─ ” the fear that she'd have to crawl back to her mom and dad in shame had clung to her for at least a few months. “ and yeah, it takes a little time to get past that initial feeling but it does get easier . . . even laundry. ” it might take a little longer for it to get easier for rachel, but that's something the brunette thinks she should keep to herself. “ ask any of the guys what it was like when they were first on their own, i bet they all felt the same way. ” a laugh slips from her lips then. “ i know how tough it was for ross. of course if you ask him, he'll tell you otherwise. ”
a cautious smile pulls at her lips, finding comfort in monica's immediate response and the gentle hand on her shoulder. unlike her friends back in long island who would agree with her, no matter the question or circumstance, rachel trusts every word came from monica's heart. "but what makes me an expert on what's best for me?" she pauses, imagining the life her parents set up for her. "my parents thought barry was right for me ... maybe they don't know anything either—" rachel's expertise on making decisions started and ended with choices that truly didn't matter or have any lasting consequences, like her outfits, her meals, how she spends her days — moving to the city was rachel's first significant decision. its effects were wide-reaching and potentially devastating. although she knew her parents would happily welcome her back home, she feels pulled to the city. her discomfort eases, knowing that this might just be a phase everyone goes through when moving to the city. of course, this wouldn't last forever. it couldn't. "when did you start to feel like you were getting the hang of it? that you'd be okay?"
EMMA SWAN IN EVERY EPISODE 2.05, The Doctor
He smiled widely at her. She was just so lovely. It seemed silly to use such a simple word to describe her but it was fitting. Edwina was beautiful yes, but there were so many beautiful women here, it was that her beauty radiated from within. The joy she showed, the wonder, the sense of gratefulness rather than entitlement, was so refreshing. She existed for herself, and that was rare fredrich knew. She did not perform but rather let people see her for who she was. It was mad that he could see all this by her deminer and few words, but he had been royal his whole life. He has seen many many pretenders that he could spot them a mile away. Either miss Edwina Sharma was excellent at pretending, or she was a truly happy and wonderful person. Either way Fredrich needed to know
Fredrich nodded knowingly ❝the obsession everyone has with this gossip columist is very interesting❞ his aunt was obsessed surely, it seemed so many of her choices were to beat the gossip writer at some game. He smiled warmly as miss Sharma spoke of the queen. Most people flattered the queen because she was the queen or some were scared of her, but not miss Sharma. She seemed to genuinely like his aunt for who she was. ❝she is quiet fond of you as well, she has spoken of you often and I can see why❞ he added finding himself blushing. He took her hand and kissed it.❝it is an honor to officially meet you miss Edwina. My name is Prince Fredrich.❞
@wildschemes
Edwina smiled, nodding knowingly. "I agree. I do wonder why that is — if they are hoping their secrets stay hidden or simply long to see their name in print, no matter how unkind the column is." She could only assume it was a mix of the two. As she had always been a quiet person, fairly unassuming, Edwina loathed being written about, particularly since she hadn't been at the centre of the scandal, and could not understand why some in the ton revelled in it. Perhaps they were merely desperate to find ways to pass the time.
"She has?" Her expression lit up at the information. She couldn't stand the idea of anyone disliking her, especially the queen. "That pleases me to hear." She took in a shaky breath as he pressed his lips against her gloved hand. The butterflies in her stomach were running rampant. She had never felt anything like this before, and certainly, not this quickly. She could not help but wonder if she had taken ill somehow or if she had unwittingly entered a dream. Either way, she could not bring herself to move or excuse herself. "I can assure you, the honour is all mine, Prince Friedrich. I do hope you're enjoying your time in Mayfair. Will you be staying for the season?"
