The men’s reactions to her presence had been quite clear–– SHOCK followed by a mixture of anger and lust, Jon’s on the other hand, had been more complicated. He knew the laws of The Watch, that women were not allowed. He knew his aunt had few options of where to go. He knew she had to flee quickly, had no influence over the bastard prince’s will’s–– but still he felt some sort of animosity towards her, felt she could have done something to save his father and sisters.
“Why”, he asked, shaking his head softly, refusing to sit beside her. He had never been very close with his aunt, her visits few and for between, and while she made an effort to include him, her duties to her husband often took priority. “Why here? Why me? You know what The Wall is, you know Benjen isn’t here”.
“I didn’t think I’d be very welcome at Catelyn’s side given how I’ve come to be here,” Lyanna had been part of what always drew Ned back to King’s Landing. She was not the King’s wife, but Robert made plenty of demands for her. She would have been a traitor if not and she could have been put to death.
“I know Benjen isn’t here. I wished to see you. I thought perhaps you could use a friendly face and I thought I could as well,” She whispered. “Jon...” Wherever the sentence was going it died in her throat. “I just wanted to see you and there was no more I could do at King’s Landing.”
