I reccomend listening to Venus by Sleeping at Last while reading this! He/they Kit supremacy!
"Ok and what's that one again?"
Kit felt Ty smile against his ear. "Ursa minor. I told you already. Remember?"
"Sorry ADHD brain, I think I kinda zoned out," Kit smiled sheepishly.
Ty sighed fondly, wrapping his arms tightly around Kit's waist. "It's alright. Are you paying attention now?"
Ty gently took their hand and guided it to point at the night sky. "That star right there is called Polarius, and if you follow those three stars down on an angle, it will lead you to four stars that form a din and shape. It's like a kite and a kite string. That's Ursa minor. And that one up there is Camelopardalis.
Kit scoffed. "Who the hell names these things?"
They felt Ty shrug behind them. "I'm not sure. Astronomers most likely."
Kit leaned back further against Ty's chest, readjusting his position on his lap. "Well if I was in charge I'd totally give them cooler names, like ok see that one there? That one's Steve, and that one next to it is Bucky."
"You can't just name the stars after fictional characters Christopher."
Kit shrugged. "Sure I can!" They nudged Ty softly. "We can name one after Sherlock and one after Moriarty and-"
"Don't forget Irene!" Ty chimed in. "She's one of the best characters in the books, regardless of what the BBC show should have you believe."
Kit laughed. Ty was notorious for never letting things go. It was one of the things they loved about him.
"Still mad about that one huh?"
Ty groaned and removed his hands from around Kit's waist to move them around while he talked. "It's just so unfair! First of all Irene Adler was never attracted to Sherlock in any way and it us so sexist to just assume because she's a women she should fall in love with him not to mention idiotic! Also in the books she bests him! It is the WHOLE point of her entire story arc in the books which granted is probably not the most progressive thing, to base a women's story around teaching a man a lesson about sexism but it was 1891! For that to be changed so that Sherlock actually outsmarted her undermines the whole story and- I'm sorry I didn't mean to ramble. Do you want me to stop?"
Kit actually took a moment to register what Ty had said. He turned his head to face Ty. "No! No I'm fine! I love hearing you rant."
Ty smiled and dragged his fist across his check as he squeezed his eyes shut. It was one of his more unique stims that Kit rarely saw. But Kit loved it. He loved everything that was so clearly Ty.
Kit beamed. "Anyways," they turned back around and leaned back against Ty's strong chest. "I think you're right."
"Mm I usually am." Ty nuzzled the nape of Kit's neck. A pleasant tingling sensation spread through their body. "But I believe you were naming the stars? I didn't mean to interrupt you."
Kit drew Ty's arms around him again, playing with his fingers. "Nah it's fine. I don't even remember what the rest of my ideas were anyway. Ooo but I do remember one thing."
Kit guided Ty's hand upwards and pointed. "See that star?"
"Of course, that one's the brightest," Ty replied.
"Yeah," Kit smiled softly. "I call that one Ty. Because it's the brightest and most beautiful star in the sky."
Ty squeezed his hand. Kit knew what he was trying to say.
Ty tugged on the hand he was holding and Kit turned to face him again. Ty smoothed his thumb over the skin on the back of their hand. "You are my favorite phenomenon," he said, kissing the back of Kit's hand where their voyance rune was. The rune that Ty had given Kit all those years ago.
"I will never tire of exploring you."
Kit needed to kiss him immediately. He used the hand Ty wasn't holding to cup Ty's cheek as he urgently pressed their lips together in a feverish kiss.
Ty made a small noise of pleasure as he deepened the kiss and sunk both of his hands into Kit's curls. Their bodies were already so close together and yet it still wasn't close enough.
Kit wrapped his arms around Ty's shoulders forcing Ty to slide his hands down to grasp at the back of Kit's shirt. They were pressed chest to chest as their mouths moved together in unison.
It reminded Kit of a song that they had first heard years ago. They remembered being in deep agony over what had gone down with Ty at Lake Lynn and flat out refusing to talk to anyone about it. Dru and Livvy were prodding them, and Kit's friends wanted to know, but they were just in firm compartmentalize mode.
At least until Janessa had introduced them to the band Sleeping at Last.
Kit broke the kiss and rested his forehead against Ty's.
I will pull you so close.
Till no space lies in between.
I was feeling pretty down so I decided to write some fluff. I am not entirely sure the astronomy stuff is accurate lol I just did a quick google search.
