My head canon has always been that Sam and Dean are in a really on-and-off relationship during the series (with all the ups and downs in the show), and that sometime after canon, things will settle down and they’ll be able to get together and be happy and things will work.

And I want Dean trying to woo Sam, like fancy restaurants and candies and little gifts of books and making him romantic dinners and holding his hand during long walks together and Sam just rolls with it, starts showing up with Dean’s favorite beer and takes him to car shows and tracks down copies of Dean’s favorite books and they become this romantic and sappy couple, the adorable couple that can give you tooth decay if you look at too long, but they’re so happy and love each other so much.
