Welcome to Simdrid Imperial Palace neighborhood

Hi everyone!! I'm finally able to post once more (exam season is nearing and really have to study, but in these dead hours i'll try to post something 😅)

This will be an Imperial Palace post not the Crown princely couple, the renders are not yet finishes and since i need the pc to study they had to stop for a while, hope they will be next as soon as they finish.

After countless months of research, trial and error, and massive fails (lots of tears and frustration) in my attempt to understanding how the sims 4 game neighborhoods work and are made, I finally achieved my ultime time dream in building in sims 4!! Create everything from scratch a full on city and a the largest Imperial Palace possible. Here are some photos on the work in progress, hope you like it 😊

We welcome you to Simdrid, the Simspain capital, and to the Imperial Palace neighborhood.

In the center of the old town, connecting the medieval city center to the XVII/ XVIII century city expansion, it was here that generations of Emperors decided to build their main official residence and the seat to the Habsimsburg Dynasty.

We start our tour of the city by visiting the Imperial Army square. Facing the Imperial Palace square, it is all around this square where the Imperial Army main offices are located, near the palace to protect the Imperial family.

It is also, in the north block of this massive building, were the imperial mews with the imperial horses and carriages are located.

Setting for some small army cerimonies and receptions it is in this square where HIM atributes new ranks and promotions to army officials as well as small speeches.

In the far end of the avenue that crosses the meddle of the Imperial Army square we can see the remaining gothic arch of the old cathedral that once stood in the lower part of the old city. for its importance and magnitude, it was converted into a symbol of Simspain and it is one of the main moments of Imperial processions.

The Imperial carriages pass through it, as if a triumphal arch, before arriving at the palace.

Lets now continue our tour and descend the Imperial Army square to arrive at the Imperial Palace main square. This is one of the squares that best overlooks the Imperial Palace for it is right in the center. For its location, it serves as an avenue for important Imperial processions... and now...

hah!! here we are facing an amazing view of the Imperial Palace and the old city, with its imposing cathedral and old castle, now unfortunately in ruins, crowning the medieval houses. Let's continue and look at the Baroque Palace, the imperial jewel, that was built by generations of Simspain Monarchs...

... welcome to the Simspain Versailles!!! From its grand façade The palace overlooks the city and in the other side a large and imposing baroque garden (still in the making 😅)

This is the main residence of all members of the Simspain Imperial Family, the imposing size of the palace allows for each member to have its own apartments and offices within the building.

Overlooking the old city, where the first Palace was built, the old brick façades were maintained (next post they will be showed with the finishing of the square decor) and a large triumphal arch, by the amazing @ardazek, was built to serve as the main entrance to the imperial gardens (next palace post)

Hope you enjoyed it, even though it is not yet completely finished more posts and palace updates will be made (with interior and exterior).

Although a hard process to build I'm so happy to see that everything looks always like this even when looking from the palace windows... I think it will make for beautiful photos 😅

Buckingham Palace

After some time of work (still unfinished), between one project and another, mixed with other tasks, I am pleased to present the progress achieved with my version of Buckingham Palace. It’s really a “version”, a kind of “re-reading” according to the standards of the game, mainly regarding the size, since, unfortunately, we still don’t have a lot larger than 64x64 and, above all, because I’m not an expert in terms of recreating real buildings. Anyway, I hope you like it!

Now, the progress continues in the private apartments and in the service areas.

Well… due to my perfectionism, the result always seems well below expectations. Anyway, it looked good enough that I could share it here. I haven’t made it available in the gallery yet, because I really need to think about how to do it. Rooms already furnished make up less than half of the entire palace. So, for sure, it will be quite heavy when completed. Still, I hope to do that and I’ll notify here too.

Testing new possibilities

I have been a little absent with my blog posts, and I haven't even played much, due to time and other issues. In fact, I need to share the Buckingham Palace (which has been progressing slowly...😅). Anyway, whoever followed some posts involving my royal family, knows that I made an attempt to insert the rich imperial history of my country (Brazil). Today, unfortunately, the Empire of Brazil is just a vague and distant memory taught in a distorted way in many schools. It is not a question of romanticizing a period, but of doing justice to what it means in the history of our country and in the cultural formation of our people. However, there are signs of change in this direction. Well, as for the game and the blog, I bring here one more attempt, which is to rebuild one of the spaces connected to the Empire and which still survive, although quite disfigured. I present my version of the "Paço Imperial" (Imperial Palace) in the city of Rio de Janeiro:

The "Paço Imperial" is a historic building located in the current Praça XV de Novembro, in the city center of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Built in the 18th century for the residence of the governors of the Captaincy of Rio de Janeiro, it became the dispatch house, successively, of the Vice-King of Brazil, of the King of Portugal, Dom João VI, and of the Emperors of Brazil, undergoing expansions in the XIX century. In reality, it is now a cultural center. Due to its historical and aesthetic importance, the Paço Imperial is considered the most important of the colonial civil buildings in Brazil.

And finally the "throne room", totally designed by me, since there are currently only empty rooms in the building, used for exhibitions and the like, and there are practically no historical references of what this room would have been like originally.

I hope to be able to continue with this construction (and others that I have in my plans), since the result has been very pleasing to me and, thus, inserting the Empire of Brazil in my history in the near future, as soon as I can play more often again. I hope you enjoy it too!

Queen’s Birthday

On this 21st, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth of Windenburg celebrated her birthday with great joy and demonstrations of affection from her subjects. Differing a little in the usual, the sovereign decided to celebrate the date in a more private way, with a Mass celebrated at morning in the private Chapel of the Royal Palace and a lunch preceded by cocktail for close friends. Before that, however, the Queen, accompanied by Prince Phillip and the children, made an appearance on the palace balcony to greet the crowd, who sang a loud and vibrant "Happy Birthday to You", followed by military salutes from the Royal Guard.

Just a note to all the entitled little brats out there. Prince Philip was a controversial figure, yes. I don't give a shit about your views, but since you are very outspoken about them, I thought I would share mine. He was a great consort, the longest-serving consort in history. He stood by and supported Her Majesty The Queen for almost seven decades. He was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who had a very difficult childhood and family background. He was brought up under different circumstances at a very different age. He is also a World War 2 veteran. There are tons of amazing things he had done. He truly earned the respect of the people. So I just want to say, that if you can't find anything about him to respect, then just shut the fuck up and let those who respect him mourn him. I'm sure you would not say nasty things, mock the appearance or talk shit about other WW veterans or your own grandfather.

This morning, I am forced to break my absence on Tumblr to pay tribute to this great man, His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who died this morning in Windsor. Someone who understood his role in the Royal Family very well and serves as inspiration for many of us. May he rest in peace! My condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and the whole family.

Sometimes You Simply Need Help...

Hi everyone! Never thought I’d have to write one of these posts but here we are. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Ali. I’m an American opera singer currently living in Florence, Italy, where I’m training at a studio and preparing for the next step in my professional career.

A dream come true? Absolutely. But if you have followed me for a long time, you’ll know I have faced some very intense (and extremely expensive) struggles throughout the process of trying to obtain my Italian. I’m very glad to say that after seven months of tears, several rebooked flights and financial meltdowns later, I have my visa; however, I’m now facing another issue. Because of all the costs accrued while trying to get my visa, I’m now in a position where I can barely afford to even buy groceries, or keep a roof over my head.

I’m not someone who likes to rely on other people for support, but at this point I’m left with no other option. I can’t pay my rent this month (which is already three days late) and that’s the ugly truth. I’m currently waiting for my US stimulus check and I’m doing my very best to recruit more voice students (if you want singing lessons over Zoom with a professional singer, do get it touch!), but with my situation I’ve had to put my pride aside and find ways to make money to survive. So here I am, asking if you can spare anything to help in my moment of need.

Brazilian State Visit - State Banquet

Ending the State Visit of the Brazilian Royal Family to Windenburg, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth hosted a State Banquet at Royal Palace. The royals walk in procession to the Banquet Room.

Opening the procession, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and His Imperial Majesty Emperor Dom Pedro III.

Next, Her Imperial Majesty Empress Dona Cristina and His Royal Highness Prince Phillip. 

Her Royal Highness Princess Margareth and His Imperial Highness Prince Dom Rafael. 

Lastly, Her Majesty the Queen Mother and Her Imperial Highness Princess Dona Maria Gabriela. 

Her Majesty speaks first, thanking the emperors for their visit and making wishes of prosperity for both nations. The Queen also mentioned that she hopes to retribute the visit soon.

Emperor Dom Pedro III then speaks, thanking Her Majesty for her hospitality and emphasizing his commitment to always strengthening relations between Windenburg and the Empire of Brazil.

Brazilian State Visit - Honouring the Founders

Later, TIM Emperor Dom Pedro III and Empress Dona Cristina of Brazil also paid posthumous homage to the founders of Windenburg, placing a wreath on the statue of the Baron of Winden, in Hare Square Park.

Brasilian State Visit - Parliament visit

On the second day of the Brazilian state visit, TIM Emperor Dom Pedro III and Empress Dona Cristina visited the Windenburg Parliament Houses. Their Majesties were received by Lord Speaker, Baron Downes, and the Speaker of the House of Commons, Mr. Kevin Bray, who introduced the House of Parliament to royal visitors. 

Prime Minister Harold Wilson also joined the group in the lobby of the House of Commons, where, according to Parliament's tradition, a monarch cannot enter in order to maintain the independence of the chamber's power. Thus, the Emperor and the Empress remained at the entrance. 

Despite the vacation period, it was possible to gather a considerable number of parliamentarians to whom Emperor Dom Pedro III spoke in the Meeting Room.

Brazilian State Visit - At Royal Palace

At the Royal Palace of Windenburg, the Brazilian Royal Family was able to appreciate the exhibition of items from the Royal Collection linked to the historic relationship between Windenburg and the Brazilian Empire. The palace curator and the queen herself presented the collection. Later, the queen had a private meeting with Emperor Dom Pedro III to deal more specifically with matters concerning the current bi-lateral relationship between the two countries.

Brazilian State Visit - Royal Procession 

The royal procession crossed the streets of Windenburg towards the Royal Palace, amidst the euphoria of the people who greeted the royal visitors. In the first carriage, HM Queen Elizabeth, HIM Emperor Dom Pedro III and HIH Prince Dom Rafael. Then, in the second carriage, HIM Empress Dona Cristina, HRH Prince Phillip and HIH Princess Dona Maria Gabriela.
