Taking a quick break to grab it and light it off of a lit burner . “why are we the only flyers?” warren wonders out loud, turning to his team mate who adorned a pair of similar extra limbs on her back as well. “i could be at home right now staring at a blue print of this place and actually working out how to deactivate the bombs, but,” he grunts, picking up a man that was running in the wrong direction as he turns to look at angel. “i’m out here because i fly. because we fly.” warren’s smart, incredibly so, he’s always excelled in everything that he did. but being a mutant… none of that mattered. he was always torn between sacrificing himself to the physical attributes of himself and the mental. “something doesn’t feel right. being out here is… wrong. don’t you think it’s weird that we’re all out here and nothing’s happened yet?”

❛ i don’t like it. i feel like a sitting duck, ❜ angel managed to reply to warren’s question, even as she completed the daunting task of lowering a woman to the ground by her collar ( the only thing she was able to grab ). the woman stumbled when she collided with the pavement, shooting angel a rather nasty look from over her shoulder - angel smiled sarcastically in response, and lifted into the air once more. ❛ but you're right. we fly. that’s why we’re not back home, lounging in the central air conditioning. ❜ she scanned the area for more people to help, trying to ignore the vague SENSE OF UNEASE that was building around them. ❛ if we stick together i’m sure we’ll be fine. i’d trust you with my life, if it came down to it. ❜

angel let out a sharp groan, arms cradled around a young boy the pain from one severed wing was starting to get to her. nevertheless, she returned the child to his parents, handing him over gently before landing next to barry. she caught his gaze and gave a weak chuckle, breathing through the searing discomfort as she scoped out her next objective. ❛ don’t worry about me. it’ll grow back. ❜

adrenalin rushed through the kings veins as he ran through the crowded halls of the stadium, heroes working left and right to clear them as it slowly got closer and closer to the time of possible detonation. not that the king didn’t trust those who were back at the mansion, but the possibility of them being unsuccessful was still in mind. easily swinging himself up and over the railings to get a better view of the stadium, gaze averted to the woman next to him for merely a moment, still concentrated on getting anyone else out. turning towards the woman, he spoke. “there are still too many people in this stadium, we need to move quicker.” the panther spoke. “i think if we work together, instead of individually, this will go quicker.”

it felt like the summer of ‘62 again, standing on that island and waiting for the missiles to hit only then she was alone, and now she’s surrounded by allies. she’d just returned from reuniting a child with their parents when someone spoke to her, quickly bringing her back down to earth. angel turned toward the voice, identifying it as that of king t’challa almost immediately. ❛ you’re right, ❜ she agreed, wings glimmering as they unfurled behind her, ❛ my mama always said teamwork makes the DREAM WORK. ❜ angel lifted off the ground only slightly, wings holding her a few inches from the pavement as she assessed the situation before them. ❛ has anyone seen stryker ? do we know if he’s here ? ❜
