I write Fjorester fanfics and dream of being as cool as Veth Brenatto. My longfics include:

A Novel Guide to Courtship and Counterfeiting – An AU in which Jester (a Myriad princess) and Fjord (a Revelry prince) strike a deal and fake-date their way through a list of romance novel tropes, while trying not to actually fall in love along the way. (In-progress)

Seen Through the Deadlight — An imagining of an Uk'otoa arc where the Mighty Nein reunite to deal with Fjord’s unfinished business and—thanks to a particular hag—end up taking some unexpected detours. (Complete)

I passionately hate the idea that marriage, or long-term relationships, should be expected to be hard.

Life is hard. Adding an extra person to your life doubles the amount of hard things you might be exposed to. It's twice as many jobs that you could lose, twice as many people who might get sick. More if you add kids to the equation.

But the relationship itself should not be hard. The relationship - if it's any good - should be what makes those hard things easier.
