Happy Pride Month to those two women dancing together in the foreground of the boat scene in Godzilla (1954).
I’m sorry your romantic foibles were overshadowed by a big ass atomic lizard thing.

alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

I forgot what I wanted to write down here.
Happy Pride
the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be apart of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.
Today's vent:
Absolute perfection.
Vent (my dad has been mean to me lately)
Was having a decent day today and was cooking supper before my parents got home. And my dad smacked me on the back of the head because I accidentally put too much onion in the beef barley soup
He didn’t dump it, of course. Him and I ate it (mom’s too sick to eat rn). I picked out a bunch of the onion, then later added it to my bowl of soup.
My dad’s been getting angrier easier at me. The other day when it was really hot, my dad and I were leveling the camper. I like… moved our couple pieces of wood we were using to level it.
But I did it wrong.
And he got so mad he looked like he wanted to beat me. Then he smacked his head into the side of the camper multiple times on purpose. Then he told me “Do you get stupid this quickly in the heat?!!” I had been in the middle of cutting grass in +28*C sun when we were doing that.
I hope no one saw it, but I also hope someone did. Because I know I’ve got a couple nice male neighbours who could’ve like, idk, talked to him or said something. But I’m guessing they were all at work.
I genuinely contemplated faking fainting that day. Don’t know why I didn’t.
I just WISH someone older than me would, like, SEE what he’s been acting like.
My biggest fantasy is literally one of my parents acting up, thinking it’s just me and them. When suddenly someone (either of their parents, neighbor, etc) sees and intervenes.
Yes I try and stand up for myself. Sometimes k literally can’t. I CANT. I freeze and I feel my brain fog over in real time. And those times I do manage to say something back, usually they just yell a little louder.
Then my dad will be mad that I’m “Slinking around” when I’ve upset one or both of my parents and am trying to walk around as quietly as possible. DUDE YOU GUYS ARE THE REASON WHY IM SLINKING.
Anyways yeah I’m off to go wash my hair and condition it nicely.
always miss each other

I'm going to be thinking about these in the context of Bloodmary for a looooong while- URGH I need more "entity" Simon post-canon fiction that makes him survive on sheer paranormal activity like Jonathan Sims does in the Magnus Archives I stg
This is an awesome use of what is probably a master's degree if not a doctorate and I am 100% thrilled that she shared it even though it was embarrassing and she squeaked.
Thank you, adorable scientist, for making people's lives better.
As an Australian, THIS WOMAN IS A FUCKING GODSEND.
this is Hannah Fry, Professor of the Public Understanding of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge and president of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.
And I think Professors Hannah Fry, the first Professor of the Public Understanding of Mathematics at Cambridge University would love being referred to as "adorable scientist"
i cannot even begin to describe how load bearing this video has been for my mental health lately. thank you macho man randy savage. i'll get over it but not really
like i don't think people understand. it's affirming. it genuinely is. whatever you're dealing with or whatever you went through may not ever really go away. but you can manage it. you can survive it. you can live anyway. you'll get over it but not really. you'll be back. the emotion and the burning desire that you have inside you right now wiyull☝️ continyeough
