Not that I think any of you are gonna buy Gwyneth Paltrow’s shitty water bottle with a rock glued to the bottom, but this is just a reminder that there’s virtually no ethical crystal mining and that even if rocks can hold metaphysical and magical powers, the ones you buy for $1.50 from the New Age shop down the street would probably still be so poisoned from exploited and dying workers that they’d do more harm than good.

Go find some harmless granite or flint, you don’t need to spend money on what’s essentially a bi-product of nickel and copper mining. There’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to find beauty and value in your own native rocks.

Basic Tarot Tips

If you are starting to be interested in tarot, here are some tips:

-get a deck that speaks to you

-make sure to not let others touch the cards! This can mess up future readings.

-keep them safe in some organic material. Cotton works best!

-When you get a new deck, I suggest to shuffle the cards until you feel a connection and wrap it in a organic cloth. Sleep on it for two days. It’s totally normal if you have the cards appear in your dreams.

-Before rushing to do some readings for your friends or any strangers, practice on yourself until you memorize the cards or until you feel confident enough to try it out of other people.

-it’s totally okay if you stop tarot suddenly. Just make sure to cleanse your cards and that you are still connected to them

- at least a couple times a year, do the sleep thing mentioned earlier to reconnect and strengthen your bond with the cards
