custom sprite i made earlier this year of my fan apprentice, orion!! i learned soooo much from working on this piece, & had a blast doing it. 💜

[credits: hair is heavily referenced from julian's sprite, and bg is an asset taken directly from the game. everything else is hand drawn!]

Details:

his necklace is a bit of southern italian folk magic, a cimaruta. it's meant to ward off the malocch (mal'occhio if u wanna be correct according to standardized Italian.) the base is a sprig of rue, and the symbols within the branches differ according to cultural customs by region. i picked a few that i liked from among the most common, and made the snake look like faust for funsies.

the bracer has their sun, moon, and rising zodiac signs engraved on it, along with the sigil of the archangel Raphael. Raphael is associated with protection, healing, and restoration (iykyk.)

belt is a crios, a traditional hand-woven belt worn by irish fishermen.

shades are pince-nez bc i couldn't get the arms of the glasses to look right, LOL

this one took me a WHILE. started it somewhere around a year ago, but i got frustrated by the amount of Major editing & freehanding needed, & it took me a while to get back to it.

pretty happy w/ how it turned out, in the end!!

...for now, at least. i know myself, and i'll probably be fiddling with this for...ever, basically, lmao. BUT!

BEHOLD! my first ever bjd: a little fella!!

siffrin is a character from In Stars and Time, by @insertdisc5

doll base is Kabbit, by @aelithart, using the Nova head (modified by myself, to have human ears), and Fantasia boots. faceup and eye were done by me.

siffrin's knife was modeled by reddit user InfinitumDividatur- i just scaled it down to doll size, then printed & painted it.

all clothes (except sif's turtleneck) were hand sewn by me! and yes, i did, in fact, use a backstitch on the cloak, to be canon compliant. 😂

better look at the faceup, without everything else in the way. i'm still learning- this was my first faceup!- but i'm pretty happy with how it turned out!!

no lashes for the blinded eye, since they'd just get squished under the eye patch anyway. but you CAN see a neat little easter egg, here: i made sif's eyes two different shades, to match loop. :3
