when im walking surrounded by empty cracked parking lots choked full of trash. every building empty, furniture piled high in the windows, yet homeless huddling outside them. rows of small businesses dark and vacant inside, homes collapsed for years and never moved. roadkill left to rot in the street. when im surrounded by this, im wondering how this spot looked under the last caretakers. and im wondering what was ever the goddamn point beyond money to the wealthy

 I think I’ve said this before but it’s interesting how in the 90′s there was this big wave of media - from sitcom episodes to respected news columns - acting as if the concept of “sexual harassment” was getting horribly overblown and related lawsuits completely out of control over supposedly minor, harmless, normal behaviors. Then over a decade later it turned out, no, the harassment was actually much worse and more common than anyone even alleged at the time. All that scoffing and eye rolling through the very same decade that people like John Lasseter and Harvey Weinstein were poisoning entire industries, wow, funny
