Sitting in a chair against a plain background, Kiyoko popped her gum for the last time then spit it out into paper that was taken from her by a friend that also handled the camera for her. “How I look?” She asked, raking her acrylics though her mane. Counting down from three, an immediate smile plastered across her face as she spoke into the now recording camera. “Hello, hello world, it’s your favorite on-air sugar baby, Kiyoko Lee from Z106 and I am answering questions submitted by YOU on instagram and twitter. Let’s get started, shall we?” She exclaimed while picking up her phone and launching her notes app with the questions already listed.
“Okay so question number one, how old are you, where are you from and is Kiyoko really your name?” She recited before resting her phone in her lap. “ First of all, that was three questions.” She joked and chortled. “However, yes, Kiyoko Lee is my real name baby. Kiyoko is my grandmother’s name and I got it from her. I am originally from New York and although nobody believes me, I am 20 years old for a few more weeks.” She picked her phone up while still rambling and scrolling. “I have a baby face so I’m guessed anywhere from 16 on up.” Laughing at her own experiences she read off the next question. “Um, why Z6NE Entertainment?” “I was initially an intern with the label. Coffee runs, walking dogs, printing stuff, the whole nine. I needed money and they paid me. So… But I stuck with it because Z6NE had a feeling of family and potential. And sure enough they had an opening at the station Z106, which is under the umbrella of the company, and ya girl stuck around and finally had my hard work rewarded with a slot on airrrr.” Kiyoko sang out while doing a dance in her seat before laughing at herself. @z6ne-rp
“What inspired me to pick my career? Well honestly, this career chose me. I started as an intern as a steady income for a broke college student. Then over time, I found myself on the label’s street team, then hosting parties and it just happened for me. And now I’m happy with it because this job allows me to remain myself. I get to talk shit, create conversations, meet people and even travel.” Tapping at her phone, Kiyoko balled her fist over her mouth and lightly coughed before reading the following question. “What do you do in your spare time? Well, I love to travel. I love to draw. Shopping is always cool. And honestly it’s going to sound bad but I like to lurk on gossip sites.” She admitted before laughing. “What’s your biggest pet peeve? That’s easy. A liar. In a close second place is when people drag metal against metal.” She stated before cringing at the thought of the sound.
“Next pregunta! Who or what is your biggest inspiration?” Kiyoko paused for a moment and thought briefly of an honest answer to give. “Even though we’re not on the best of terms anymore, my mom. She sacrificed a lot as a woman and as a mom and probably don’t receive enough appreciation and credit for it. She went against the grain to create a better life for herself and her children and she let me know sometimes a risk is not only necessary but can also be very well worth it. And that keeps me going everyday as I continue to pursue something that wasn’t necessarily part of the plan, but still made me into who I am.” With a silent shrug, she resumed with what she was going to make the last few questions. “How would you like to be remembered?” Pushing her raven tresses from her face, Kiyoko tucked a leg underneath herself. “I want to be remembered for being a true people person, even outside of my job. Philanthropy is near and dear to me, especially when children are involved.”
“Okay, last question..or questions, I should say. First up, a message to my fans? That as long as you believe in yourself, that it sets the tone for others to have no choice but to do the same. Same goes for love. Loving yourself attracts good love to you.” She said, resting her hand across her heart. “What can we expect from you in 2019? Definitely bigger and better content from Z106. Hopefully more deals outside of work such as endorsements perhaps. And you never know, I might re-enroll back in college. You just gotta stay tuned!” She exclaimed before clasping her hands together.
