He had planned the stop at the new jewelry shop near Diagon Alley perfectly, so he thought. The boy gazed over the ring he had purchased with a small smile. The outside of the band titanium steel while the inside reflected a sheet of flattened emerald with a band of black inside it. A small encryption on the inside of the band to form the words âI promiseâ once it initially feels the heat of a finer on it. It had costed him a fortune but it was worth it. All he had to do now was hide it. Luckily he had also spotted an enchanted jewelry box while he was inside. The music it played sounded the same as what Millenia played on the piano.
Everything should have been fine. He would walk out the shop unseen by any of his peers, and then he would make his way back to Malfoy Manor. He didnât think Abraxas went through his things, but maybe he did. His brain twirled the ideas of a place to hide it, and he almost didnât hear his name as he exited the store.
He heard it the second time and froze. Turning his body towards the familiar voice There stood the taller ginger with the shrub of facial hair on his chin, and his hair much more flowing than Nicoliâs. The madness that brewed in his fatherâs eyes was one he would never forget. Only this time he wasnât alone.Â
The girl was someone he had seen in his school before, but he isnât quite sure how his father had gotten her there. Or if she had just happened to step in between the two. What the bloody hell was she doing there? His fatherâs smug smirk made his the hair against his spine prickle up his neck.
He blocked the other from leaving him and his father alone, as he waited for the old man to state his case. Nicoli placed the enchanted music box with the ring inside it near his shoes.Drawing out his wand.Â
Gillian had thought this was going to be a good winter break. It was almost Christmas, after all. The snow gave everything a magical appearance, and she loved the cold anyways so it was no sweat off her back that the temperatures were freezing. Since she had a day off she decided it would be a perfect opportunity to go and get some presents for her friends. Her familyâs place wasnât too far from diagon alley so she had figured it would be no problem to slip there quickly and buy some things while her parents were at work. Maybe get an ice cream too as a special treat.
There had been only one problem with her being there at that time though. With her muggle clothes on she stood out like a sore thumb from all the cloaks and capes that were everywhere. Normally that wasnât a problem, but to her luck it was today. You wouldnât think that her thick brown coat would bring too much attention to her but sadly she was wrong, and she was approached by a tall man. A pureblood, and by the looks of it a supremacist.Â
What happened next was a blur. She remembered being threatened. Gillian, not the bravest of the bunch, had tears stinging her eyes, expecting the worst. Was there no one around to see them? No, he had moved them to the side, out of the way when he seemed to get distracted, spotting someone nearby.Â
The girl didnât even remember being moved, next thing she knew she was standing between the tall man and what must have been his son by the looks of it. She recognized him from school, but he was a slytherin, and older than her. She could feel tears roll down her cheeks and she wrapped her arms around herself, shaking, more frightened than she had ever been as she didnât know what was going to happen to her.
