Climbed up the stairs on an adventure by herself. I'm hesitant to let her do stairs on her own, but her favorite place to sit is like two steps up, and she sneaks off to do exploring on her own sometimes 😅

I was sitting on the steps and she started climbing up one at a time. And she started climbing right past me. "Wha- where are you going??" She kept going, up to the landing.

And then, for the first time, she finally figured out how to get the rest of the way up the stairs. She's always been so confused when she gets to the top of the landing and can't figure out where to go from there. So now we're in trouble 🤣. Nobody can stop her.

just watched iron lung. the posts ive seen shipping him with ryan gosling are NOT capitalizing enough on what an awesomely relatable depiction simon is of a desperate hypocritical self-justifying failguy who ultimately doesnt want to be bad but sucks at not being bad because of selfishness borne out of fearful self-preservation. its not just that they were both sent on one way trips against their will its that neither of them would have ever stepped up to do it willingly. they wouldve both kept wasting time their entire lives avoiding truly committing to a cause, had outside forces not taken away every possible escape. and i don't know i just think maybe we as creatures of society could be using this as a means to interrogate why theres so much appeal right now to these guys who must be backed into a corner and prodded like animals till they bleed to perform deeds that they know to be in line with what they actually consider morally good. maybe there's some kind of broader social situation happening in the country where these movies were filmed that makes that sentiment resonate with a large majority of the audience for some reason. i just think its interesting

David vs. David

@narutofoxlover pointed out to me that there may be some confusion in the fandom about David as the character Troy Baker plays, and David Szymanski's cameo character.

These are two completely different people. David Szymanski does not voice the "David" you hear over the radio. Mr. Szymanski plays the SM-13's terminal and alarm voice. He's the one screeching "HULL BREACH" at Simon. David the character is the guy in the biker jacket who calls Simon an Eden piece of shit. "Plenty more where you came from." He's that guy.

This is David the character, Ava's wear-many-hats guy. He's an impromptu electrical engineer, data analyst, and the mission's second-in-command:

I call this "sitting like a dumpling". It's more obvious why from other angles lol. She also does something I call a "corpse nap" because she looks like the yoga pose, on her back, arms down at her sides.

She's always sat crooked like this ever since she broke her hip as a puppy. I don't remember what it was called, but she had some kind of genetic defect in her hip that needed to be corrected surgically. She has a cute butt scar now and she sits this way either out of habit or because it's still just more comfortable for her.

Poor girl has had a rough go of it 😅. She survived parvo, a broken leg, and now blindness. She's my happy little trooper.

What if.... What if things go the other way around?

What if instead of Astrophage causing the Quiet Rapture and the blood moon nonsense.... There was time loop nonsense?

What if the SM-13 appeared on Earth and Grace got dragged onto the taskforce investigating/studying it? And THEN the sun started to dim?

Poor Simon feeling like a prisoner/experiment... Because he pretty much is. But at least he gets to see the sun and feel wind and rain every now and then. And grass. At least he gets to eat food even the Father couldn't dream of. He hates that he's still a prisoner, but it's all so much more than he thinks he'll ever deserve. He feels so much guilt for daring to want *more*.

I guess a time loop wouldn't make much sense unless the Quiet Rapture was centuries in the making. The Astrophage slowly spreads through the universe, though Grace and Rocky find the solution to keeping it under control.... Until eventually everything just... Snaps under the weight one day.
