My currently posting and soon to be posted works are pre-written.
That means they are fully written, await editing chapter-by-chapter, and chapters are posted immediately after they are edited. I update multiple times a day because of this. The chapters are completed, just sitting in a folder, and I could 🪦 tomorrow. It's better to get the work marked as completed for me than it is to sit and hope and wait more comments will come in. It's not about the comments for me. It's about getting it off my computer and onto your e-reader.
Pre-written works exist in this fandom, donut forget that.
Thank you.
Hiiiii Dramione readers -- if you're still out there. I've re-started this Dramione fic! Chapter 1 is up! I miss Dramione and the fandom! I will be consistent, updates once a week -- maybe every 2 weeks! Since I initially had this at 10 chapters and deleted it, I have lots thats already outlined. I'm working on chapter 2 as we speak. Please share, take a read, all of that good stuff! Thanks!!! I've also dropped a mini snippet to get ya curious about it! You can now read chapter 1 in full on: AO3 here Wattpad here FFN here
Summary:
Hermione Granger comes back to Hogwarts because she has nowhere else to go. Draco Malfoy comes back because he has no choice. Then the storm hits. And nothing, not their enemies, not their grief, not the careful distance between them, is ever quite the same.
8th year. Post-war. Chapter 1 - WORTH snippet Draco Malfoy's dot was moving through the fourth floor, closer than she'd like. As a condition of his re-admission to Hogwarts, he'd been given prefect duties; paired with Zacharias Smith, who was ostensibly there to shadow him and report any misconduct to his Ministry liaison. It was an arrangement that said everything about how tentatively the Wizarding world was willing to trust him back within these walls. Filch was one floor down and climbing. She tucked the cloak under her arm and started for home.
She was moving fast, cutting through the castle with her eyes on the map, when she rounded a corner and walked directly into something solid.
The Cloak slipped.
She scrambled for it and got it half-covering her, but the hood had gone and her face was visible in the torchlight, and when she looked up she found herself looking at Draco Malfoy.
Neither of them moved.
He had tired traces under his eyes that hadn't been there in sixth year, his jaw more angular. His prefect badge caught the light like a blade. His face was unreadable in the first half-second; something slipping through it before it closed.
"Well, well," he said, his gaze dropping to the Cloak crumpled at her feet. "Look what's been slinking around after curfew."
"I'm not in the mood," she said flatly. "Move."
He didn't.
"What's the matter, library too crowded for your late-night escapades?" His tone was airy, but his eyes weren't; they skimmed her face with careful attention, taking inventory, and then narrowed almost imperceptibly at what they found. "Long night, Granger?"
"Not your concern." Feeling mild embarrassment, she dragged a hand through her unkempt hair. "You're on rounds. I'll be out of your way."
"Technically," he said, tilting his head, "as a prefect it's my sworn duty to report rule-breakers. Especially ones with a recent flair for public hexing."
The mention of it imbued right through her. "Don't lecture me about righteousness. You are the last person—you of all people—"
"Go on," His chin lifted. ”Finish it."
"People died. People who didn't have to. Because you did nothing." Flat. Controlled. The way she said things that were too large for volume. "Because you were…useless.”
The expression cracked. Just along one fault line, just for a fraction of a second; and then his face was careful and giving her nothing.
"I know," he said.
She had prepared, without realising it, for almost anything else. Deflection. Nastiness. Bigotry. The performance of indifference he had been perfecting since they were eleven years old. She had not prepared for that; two words, quietly meant, with nothing behind them that she could push against. It disarmed her in a way that fury never could have.
She opened her mouth. Closed it.
Then she heard it; footsteps, carrying from the north end of the corridor.
Draco moved before she did.
His hand caught her upper arm; firm, nothing malicious in it. And yet. The body keeps its own counsel, remembers what the mind would sooner forget; and her mind went somewhere else entirely in the space of a heartbeat; the floor was cold stone and the air tasted of terror, blood and the screaming had not yet stopped.
I think I am officially Fandom Old. I am so worn out from the arguments on who's the top or the bottom (who cares), what is allowed to be written (anything you want, bejeebus), what is Problematic (I know, just tag it), what other people Should Do (they Should live their lives free of judgment). There isn't a Right Way to do things. Tag your stuff appropriately, don't read stuff you don't want to read, and leave other people (me) alone.
There is nothing quite like the freedom of having gone through all of the Discourse and come out the other side into the promised land of Not Giving A Fuck.
oh my god it feels so good. i dont give a fuck what you ship, what your kinks are, what you read, etc. just dont bother people and dont complain about seeing things you dont want to see when they are actively marked as that thing
Any fanfiction writers that have tools and tips for outlining a long fic? I’m currently stuck on this outline for a Dramione fic 😭

Oh great. I’ve just started writing anew fic. It’s very troubling.
I kinda ship dramione but those people that are like “OmG hAvE yOu EvEn wAtcHeD or ReAd hArrY PotTer, tHeY hAte EacH oThEr?!?” are so annoying, cuz like bitch I know they weren’t really on good terms, it’s fucking fiction just let me ship who I want in peace for fuck sake😭
I'm going to share some feels here as a Dramione writer. This is not my main blog obviously, but I feel like I can't talk about this openly from my main account.
It's very hard to start this conversation in Dramione spaces because people are just shutting down at any type of discussion of this and turn to blame writers, and in non-Dramione spaces... well, people really do hate Dramione so it's quite impossible.
This community is very toxic toward writers. There's really no other way to say this.
If you scroll through hashtags here or on Twitter, you'll see how this space has turned fully overrun by readers, and they've pushed the writers out of the Dramione spaces.
I'll call out the r/Dramione subreddit here, and the Dramione Heartstrings discord.
Both of those spaces, while on paper allow writers in, are not a space for them at all.
And Dramione-only writing spaces are overrun with writers who are there to "boost productivity." Publish on schedule and just turn this activity into the content churning supersize.
It's almost impossible to exist in those spaces as a writer. Here's the running list of reasons:
People don't use AO3 for discovery anymore but rely more and more on algorithmic methods of discovery.
People don't follow writers anymore, but they follow readers' accounts where people recommend fics.
They are less prone to taking recommendations from writers (see how massively any self-promotion links are downvoted on the Dramione subreddit or how in the HeartString server there's only 1 link graveyard type of channel for self promotion and any attempts to engage in the chats are shut down by people who are still swooning about the popular fics and don't let you talk).
People don't talk about fics anymore, frankly. There are endless streams of conversations about only the fics that: update regularly, are from already known writers, are writing in the specific characterizations of Draco and Hermione made popular by the popular fics.
People don't read WIPs. It's like an epidemic of people who are not taking recommendations unless it's a long completed fic.
People don't comment on fics; however, they have lots and lots to share in their private discords.
They bring the "critique" culture into the fandom.
Not to mention the whole bookbinding and Goodreads things that are happening in the fandom right now.
Another thing I see is how readers are weaponizing the "write for yourself and don't expect comments" type of rhetoric. Which is very interesting mental gymnastics they are trying to make because I do write for myself. I do write the story I want to tell. But if I'm posting the story... it's only normal to assume it's okay to expect engagement. But readers really like to turn this as ammunition against the writers.
We lost the community aspect of the fandom, and it's very sad for me.
Community is not about talking about the same 10 fics you like over and over again. And making lists of the same fics over and over again.
Frankly, I feel exploited by this fandom, and it's heartbreaking because it's my OTP but I can't create anymore because I feel like there's no one I can create for.
It feels like unless I publish something weekly, I'm not welcome and I'm not needed in this community.
People like to say that fandom is for fun?
I will like to ask whose fun?
Only for the writers who are able to publish daily, weekly?
Only for readers who are just happy to simp over the same fics over again?
I know people will not take this post in good faith, but I'm frankly tired. It is not fun for me anymore.
All I know is we better get a really good lovemaking scene!! It’s a tradition at this point!!
“everyone is going to hate it” someone will love it. someone will reach out to you and tell you it changed their life. someone will hold it close and treasure it forever in a way you can’t even understand. keep going
Me whenever I contemplate posting another chapterrrrr
