What I don't get about tvd is that every time the door to the other world opens (such as when Silas comes back) why doesn't Jenner ever come back. We know she died a vampire because klaus turned her and then killed her for his sacrifice. So that means that when the door to the other side opened she should have been able to see Jenner again.
