“Don’t you look tired today?”
Remus starts up at the voice from where he had been sleeping on the table at the library.
He blinks blearily, eyes landing on … Regulus Black? He blinks again, sure he’s hallucinating things.
The hallucination rolls his eyes. “And here I thought you were the one with the functioning brain cell in the group.”
Was - Was that a compliment? Remus had never been more blindsided in his life.
Regulus looks at him and purses his lips, as though he’s something stuck at the bottom of his feet.
And yes that expression Remus is familiar with.
“You’re close to Sirius.”
Remus blinks. That wasn’t news to anyone who knew them. Everyone knew they were best friends.
Well, they weren’t just best friends anymore but it wasn’t like Regulus Black of all people would know that.
“Why do you care? Last I heard you were an only child.”
Remus knows it’s rude, downright mean but he couldn’t be bothered. He’d seen his boyfriend cry too many times over the boy in front of him so sue him if he couldn’t be nice.
Regulus’s face turns colder but otherwise he doesn’t seem affected.
Before Remus can continue pushing Regulus adds, voice cold.
“I have the ability to make your life very miserable. Don’t test me.”
As he says that Regulus casually brushes a hand through his hair - showing off the numerous silver rings on his fingers.
Remus turns cold. How the fuck did Regulus find out that he’s a werewolf?
“Whatever you think you know about me you’re wrong.”
Regulus tilts his head, looking at Remus like he’s grading him. “Perhaps. But Sirius better be right. For your sake. ”
With that Regulus leaves leaving Remus gaping at him.
What the fuck? Did he just get the shovel talk from his boyfriend’s estranged possibly death eater brother?
Remus was too sleep deprived to deal with this.
