🖤 He's actually pretty good at a few handsy crafts, including but not limited to: sewing, drawing, and altering clothes in general. He used to go all-out on his outfits, and so often (still) diy them (in true punk/goth fashion)
🖤 It took a while for him to open up to Maru, but eventually they became friends. He learned that she always looked up to him, and he felt guilty about sending her away all the time
🖤 Him and Maru have a 2 year age difference, and although that means they have a somewhat equal level of maturity, it also means they used to fight, often
🖤 She's actually his biggest supporter when it comes to his job (which is never fully specified, but I think it's strongly implied it has to do with coding/computers in general). Robin doesn't really get it (but is still supportive of it, partially) and Demetrius...doesn’t bother to understand, mostly. But Maru gets it, and she also knows a bit about coding and tech stuff, so she can understand!
🖤 Him and Demetrius have a rocky relationship, at best. The thing is, neither of them really put in the effort to know the other. They're cordial with each other, but other than that...they keep to themselves
🖤 Sebastian was first friends with Abigail, actually, and she introduced him to Sam (Caroline and Jodi seem like good friends, so I think Sam and Abigail got to know each other first, too).
🖤 Seb would never say it out loud, but Abigail and Sam are his favorite people in the world
🖤 I headcanon Sam to be Seb's queer awakening (and whether the relationship continues as platonic or not, I'll leave up to your personal taste)
🖤 Sebastian is pansexual, he doesn't really care about the other's gender
🖤 He's also quite comfortable in his masculinity, sometimes wearing nail polish or makeup (of course, strictly black, after all he does have an aesthetic to maintain) and back in the days of wild nights out in the city, even a skirt from time to time. Nowadays, he limits himself to fishnet stockings under ripped jeans
🖤 He likes to be alone, a lot, but he doesn't like to feel lonely. It's nice to have people to go back to
🖤 He dyes his hair black. He'd be a natural light brown
🖤 He's a dry texter, but he never ghosts people. He's quick to respond, even if the response is more often than not a thumbs emoji and nothing else
🖤 Sometimes, he doesn't have the energy to really talk to people, but he still wants company. Abigail and Sam notice this sometimes, and let him be, while still being near
🖤 He can have really bad days. During a particularly bad one, where he couldn't stand to be alone with his thoughts, he dragged himself to Maru's room. It was the only place he managed to reach, not having the energy to call his friends. Maru saw that he wasn't doing so good, and didn't shoo him away. As he laid on the bed, she began talking "to herself" (so she claims) about her current project, and Seb dozed off to sleep. The only thing she said to him the following day, was "You're always welcome in my room"
🖤 He thanked her with a basket full of strawberries the next day
🖤 He likes the rain, and he also LOVES thunderstoms. To feel the earth shake with each thunder that hits even remotely close, to see lighting in the sky...
🖤 He likes horror movies, but he's also a fan of sci-fi, and tragic movies too. It's a secret, but he also has a weak spot for rom coms (the ones from the 2000s are usually what he prefers)
🖤 He used to love collecting pokémon cards
🖤 He likes to read, too, and him and Abigail sometimes discuss the latest books they read. Sometimes he even talks to Maru about literature, although she's more on the "classical" sides, while he enjoys moderns. But she did lend him Bram Stoker's Dracula (he loved it)

Anyway, here's some headcanons!

🧡 Sam and Vincent get along very well, despite there being a bunch of years of difference between them (I headcanon Sam in his early 20s, whereas Vincent is around 8 - 10)
🧡 He and Vincent do a lot stuff together: play videogames, watch movies, catch bugs...they have fun! They care about each other a lot
🧡 Vincent has a slight pronunciation problem: he doesn’t say words super clearly, and he tends to talk fast and/or in a lower tone
🧡 For this reason, Jodi sometimes can’t understand what Vincent says, whereas Sam understands all of it (he spends more time with Vincent, so he’s accustomed to it)
🧡 Everytime Jas and Vincent hang out, Jodi used to say “Oh is she your little girlfriend?” despite Vincent getting embarrassed and Sam telling her to stop. One day it was too much, and Sam just blurted out “Hey I spend all the time with Sebastian, why don’t you ask if he’s my boyfriend?”
🧡 The next day Sam avoided Jodi and went straight to work, when he came back he closed himself in his room. Ultimately, he emerged late at night and Jodi was in the kitchen, seated at the table. She looked at him worriedly, asking where he’d been all day and if he’d eaten anything, and Sam just started crying and apologizing. In the end, Jodi hugged him, Sam came out to her mid-breakdown and apologized for being rude. Jodi apologized too for making the same joke over and over
🧡 Sam is bi (preference for boys)
🧡 Upon his big brother coming out, Vincent tried to think of that too, for Sam to then go “It’s ok you don’t have to answer right now, or ever really”. Vincent was relieved
🧡 Sam likes horror movies: it’s one of the reasons why he, Abigail and Sebastian became friends in the first place
🧡 Sam has ADHD. He struggled with it in school, but Jodi was always there for him
🧡 He likes to annoy Shane at work, but in the beginning he was actually kind of scared of him. He wanted to get his approval, as it was his first job. One particular day, he annoyed Shane so much that he snapped at him. Sam didn't want to make it show, but he was almost crying, and for a week after he barely spoke to Shane
🧡 After said week, Shane approached Sam after work in the locker room. He silently showed him a frozen pizza he had snuck out, and passed a slice to Sam. After a quiet “thank you”, Sam proceeded to eat it and the two of them passed the break mostly in silence. That was the start of their friendship, and Sam was grateful for the second chance
🧡 Of course he's best friends with Sebastian and Abigail, and one time Abigail convinced him to dye a chunk of his hair orange (like a tiger’s eye gemstone!)
🧡 He's also pretty good friends with Penny, as she looks after Vincent, and he thinks she's cool for knowing so much about history! (He goes to pick up Vincent from the museum from time to time, and he listens in to the explanations)
🧡 He finds Maru to be pretty cool, too! At first, Sebastian didn't want to include her in their outings, but little by little he opened up to her, and so Sam came to know her well. He finds the science experiments she does so cool and awesome
🧡 Actually, he's curious and eager to learn by nature. But being neurodivergent, he didn’t have the best experience in school
🧡 When his dad came back, he of course was very glad, but…it felt strange, at first. They didn't know how to properly talk or converse. But then, one night when Sam came home late from a DnD session with Sebastian and Abigail, Kent was still up, and asked him what he was out doing. Turns out, Kent used to play DnD with his friend group, and he's more than glad to discuss it with his son!

💜 He tells the player he “never had much of a family”, well, I interpret that as him being in the foster system and passing through different families. His parents simply weren't ready for a kid, and gave him up for adoption
💜 In the end, he got tired of it all and rented a room in Marnie’s ranch
💜 Shane has identified as bisexual ever since he was 15. The realization wasn't anything dramatic, he just thought that he didn't like just girls, but other genders too. Since he didn’t ever have much of a family, he didn’t bother telling his foster parents. He doesn't really talk about it with people, but that's because he doesn't really talk about his personal life.
💜 Him, Marnie and Jas have movie nights at the farm, once a week (and when picking the movie, Shane and Marnie usually can’t resist Jas’ requests) (this is how Shane knows the entirety of “Rapunzel” by memory)
💜 Jas regularly says out of pocket stuff, especially to Shane
💜 Shane loves to pick up Jas and carry her on his shoulder, even if he doesn’t admit it when she asks
💜 After he gives up alcohol (with the encouragement of the farmer) he finds out he likes to keep in shape, actually: he often goes for walks around the forest, near the river, and on the beach
💜 He baby talks to the chickens and has a nickname for each of them. Even Marnie doesn't know how he tells them apart
💜 He has…deep self-esteem issues (duh) and after what went on with the farmer, he feels guilty about it
💜 He’s actually friends with Harvey (after the whole getting-recovered thing, they got to know each other).
💜 He got to know Elliott little by little, especially after getting better, when he became a bit friendlier with people. They surprisingly get along well: although Shane can't always understand Elliott's tastes (and viceversa), they have lots of fun! Plus, Elliott is fond of Jas, and often sees her in the library. Anyone who gets close to Jas is bound to hear something about Shane, as well
💜 After a while Shane, Elliott and Harvey start having "guy nights" at Harvey's place (as Elliott's cabin is too small). The nights usually consists of drinking some beer, wine or cider, and putting on a cheap movie that Shane fishes out of Joja's dvd discount bin. Usually it's something so bad that Shane ends up screaming at the tv while Elliott and Harvey discuss the writing in much more detail (but still take the time to agree with Shane's less...academic way of criticizing)
💜 He would never admit this, but it's actually so fun and nice to have some guy friends in town that are closer to his age
💜 He’s always been friends with Emily as well: it may not look like it, but they have similar music taste and sense of humor, so it was easy for them to become friends
💜 At first, he truly despised Sam, as he started to work after Shane, and he wasn’t that patient with him. But little by little they grew closer, and became friends (even if Shane hardly admits it). Now, they like to irritate Morris together
💜 Since it's canon that Shane play videogames in the saloon after he quits drinking, I imagine he sometimes gets invited/challenged by Sam, on Friday nights where Sam, Abigail and Sebastian hang out at the saloon. Abigail and Sebastian still think he's a bit too grumpy for their liking, but they respect his skills at the game
💜 Speaking of, he's the best gamer in town. He has a console in his room, and has loved video games since he was in elementary school

She gets along well with most residents of Pelican Town, although some of them think she may be too eccentric for their taste
She’s very good friends with Shane, and when his drinking got bad, she got very worried. Along with the farmer, she wanted to be there for him in recovery
She asks about Jas, and Jas asks about her! Emily shows her the shiny gems she has, and in return, Jas shows her dolls and things she collects around the farm
Once, Jas gifted her a blue chicken’s feather. Emily made it into an earring and wears it “For good luck”
She’s older than Hailey, by almost 3 years. They get along well, but sometimes Emily can get a bit bossy (it’s something she’s kinda self-conscious about)
Once, after a particularly bad fight, she and Hailey didn’t speak for days. But a night when Emily was working late at the Saloon, she came back home to find a duck’s feather on the coffee table, for her. The morning after, she apologized to Hailey and they made up
She and Hailey do the things that siblings do, where they insult each other jokingly, but they always have each other’s backs (and only they can insult the other!)
She’s very touchy with the people she cares about the most (if they don’t have a problem with that!): taking other’s hands in hers, giving cheek kisses, hugging…all of it!
Her other love language is definitely gift giving, and she sews clothes for others
I headcanon Abigail, Sebastian and Sam are all younger than her, and so they look up to her, especially Abigail, since she finds her style so awesome
Emily eventually ends up befriending them, and she gives fashion tips to Abigail
She has a tradition of cutting her hair shorter the first day of spring, as it marks a new beginning. Nothing drastic, usually just a few inches
When she has longer hair, she loves to take a few strands and braid jewels in them!
She and Sandy go way back, they met in elementary school and have been inseparable ever since!
They have a matching tattoo: a starfruit, Emily got her tattoo on her left ankle, and Sandy on her right ankle
She always knew that she was pansexual, in a way. She may not have had the terms to describe it, but she always knew the gender of the person she loves doesn’t matter at all
I headcanon she’s also a trans woman, using she/they pronouns. Hailey was always supportive of her sister, and when she moved out due to their parents not being so supportive, she followed her
It’s not that they didn’t accept her, it’s that they were never fully supportive. Slipping up, using the wrong name and pronouns from time to time, not really listening to her…so she decided to start anew and move to the Valley, and be the weird, beautiful girl she always wanted to be (it wasn’t easy, and a big fight ensued)
To this day, she’s very low contact with her parents
She’s friends with pretty much every regular at the Saloon, but she’s on the fence about Pam. She can see her struggle with addiction and poverty, but she hates the way she treats Penny
Speaking of, her and Penny get on well! Sometimes she goes over to the museum and lets Penny explain stuff about the minerals, as she really likes it!
In return for the “free lessons”, Emily insists on fixing Penny’s clothes when they get ruined, as she knows she can't afford new ones. Penny tells her not to worry, but Emily always insists, saying that anyway it’s good sewing practice (it is, but she mainly does it out of care for the other woman)
Gus considers her his apprentice in cooking, and she’s definitely learning a lot! She’s the second best cook in town (Hailey would never admit this, but she likes her strange recipes)
She listens to a lot of music, and she listens to whatever genre! She has some favorite genres, but sometimes she puts on a playlist she usually wouldn’t listen to in order to get inspired to do something different, and so she ends up discovering so many artists! Anyone in town, from George to Sam, can talk to her about music, as she truly knows a bit of everything

❤️ He struggled many years with a speech stutter, but eventually was determined enough to overcome it (he practiced, a lot, in his mirror)
❤️He’s an only child, and up until middle school he was homeschooled. For this reason, he was always a bit more awkward than other kids, never made friends easily
❤️ Although part of why he didn’t make friends easily was because he was always true to himself: he had a fancier style than most, he liked to play piano and write, stuff that many of his peers didn’t find interesting or fascinating. That said, he never tried to fit into the mold, preferring to remain true to himself rather than dulling his lifestyle
❤️ As he lives on the beach, he observes the small creatures such as crabs, starfish and others. He often ends up chatting with Willy over the local sea population, and they’ve become somewhat good friends
❤️ When he arrived in the valley, the first person he bonded with was Leah: they bonded over being artists (although very different ones) and living alone in nature
❤️ They often have debates on art, philosophy, music: they prefer different things, with Elliott being less chaotic than Leah in his art, and tastes as well
❤️ He sometimes stays up until very very late. One time Willy (who was coming back from a night time fishing trip) spotted him awake at night. As Willy noticed the tension in Elliott’s speech and manners, he tried to be there for him, and the best way he could do that was to show him how to light the fireplace, in case he wanted some warth
❤️ He suffers from insomnia, that’s why he was up
❤️ Now, from time to time, Elliott lights it up when he can’t sleep. Not that it helps him sleep, but he find the crackling of the fire to be relaxing
❤️ Elliott and Shane, strangely enough, sometimes do get along. Elliott is one who, ideally, likes to provide for his loved ones and such, and that’s something that Shane understands very well (as he is protective towards Jas).
❤️ Plus, Elliott often spends time in the library, and therefore watches many lessons that Penny gives to Jas and Vincent (sometimes, he even helps Penny, or accompanies home the kids). Getting to know Jas automatically means to hear a lot about Shane, as he’s important to her
❤️ Elliott has refined tastes, that’s for sure, but he’s not squeamish as one may assume: quite the opposite
❤️ He realized he was queer later in life, when he got a crush for a friend of his. To this day, he’s not 100% confident in his queerness
❤️ He came out to Leah, one day while they were in her cabin. He simply whispered “I don’t think I’m straight” during a quiet moment, and she sensed his tension immediately
❤️ She helped him overcome a lot of the internalized homophobia he had (turns out kids joking about your interests being gay does leave a mark, even if you don’t notice it) and, ultimately, he decided to not put a label on himself
❤️ He likes the Hamilton musical, a lot (but it’s a secret)
