that's a happy ending, kindness in action can do some good here and there.
Let's talk Superman. (the 2025 Superman movie, that is)
I am a very recent DC fan, only coming across it through lego batman, my friend's rants, and (in recent weeks), a truckload of edits of various scenes of batman and superman content.
That being said, this movie may have just made a lifelong DC fan. (if they keep up with this style).
Walking out of the theater I described it as "The Barbie Movie for boys" and while it was funny, and I could argue it to be true, there is one major flaw with that statement. This new Superman movie was for EVERYONE.
I'm not here to compare Superman (2025) to Barbie (2023), but it's clear that the majority of people who grew up with Barbies were little girls, while little boys and girls alike have enjoyed content about their favourite superheros growing up.
The messages in this movie were clear: "Being human is not a weakness, it's our greatest strength", "Your choices make you who you are", and "Kindness is punk rock"
And those messages stuck with people, all I've seen since the movie dropped have been people talking about kindness being the new punk rock, I've seen "joybait" replace ragebait videos, and people talking about how much this Superman movie makes them want to better themselves. People want to be like Superman.
That's what Superman has always been about. He is a symbol, not just a hero. A symbol of hope. In the movie we see him inspire many people, the people he talks to are ready to risk themselves not just for Superman in return but for each other, as Superman would.
If the movie can have that effect on real world people too, maybe we don't live in the darkest timeline.

“A kiss may be grand, but it won’t pay the rental, on your humble flat, or help you at the automat.”
Like literally the most famous song about how much girls love jewellry is just explaining the importance of getting jewellry for when your partner leaves you penniless and alone.
The founder of Girl Scouting in the US, Juliette Gordon Low, funded her first troop by selling her pearl necklace, which was her only belonging after her husband died and left everything to his mistress.
She founded Girl Scouts to teach girls self-sufficiency so they wouldn’t have to go through what she went through when her husband died and she didn’t know how to take care of herself.
Please James Gunn, im begging you, give us a live action version of the JLAU Flash. Jokester Wally West with a heart of gold who really cares about people, even his rogues gallery, at the end of the day. Don't dive too deep into the speed force, let Flash be Flash. The opportunity is right there please. Make him as campy and down to Earth as you want, he's basically the DC Spiderman in characterization.
Superman losing his composure only when people shrug off the lives of others. Doesn’t matter how well he knows them. Doesn’t matter if they’re even human.
He gets upset at the Justice Gang for brutally killing a rampaging Kaiju and not even attempting to find a way to move it or at least euthanize it more humanely.
The only time he raises his voice during Lois’ interview is when she digs into his interference in geopolitics, because people would have died if he hadn’t acted. The only time he yells at Luthor is when Luthor abducts Krypto. The only time he cries is when Luthor murders someone he barely even knew.
He saves a fucking squirrel for god’s sake. We’re so back.
