so the thing about Leverage is that by the fifth season you'll get to an episode called "The D.B. Cooper Job" and think to yourself, ah, of course, this thematic title hints at some kind of aerial crime, or perhaps a case of needing to vanish with a lot of money. Which is why it is so fucking insane that two minutes into the episode Agent McSweeten looks directly onto the camera and asks "hey can you guys please literally solve the real actual D.B. Cooper cold case. it would really mean a lot to my dad."

I know the Justice League has several different origin stories, but the idea that it started out as Bruce and Clark finishing a reluctant team-up saying “I guess we should have a way to stay in contact with each other” and then five years later they were coparenting an entire satellite of superheroes is so funny to me.

I hate how when actors get asked if they read the comics for a certain movie or show, they say they read a few of them and it “really helped” inform their character or whatever, meanwhile I have never seen a DC project where the actor says “yeah, I tried to read a few…I had no fucking idea what was going on, and honestly, I’m even more confused than before.”

Hiromu Arakawa’s genius is obvious throughout all of FMA but her first and biggest leap of genius was in how she crafted her protagonist. 

Arakawa realized the burgeoning youth of the early 2000s wasnt interested in another plucky spry optimistic young shonen protag. Instead she gave us a short ugly egotistical asshole smarter-than-you atheist with so much money and power that people could no longer best him in arguments by telling him “dude shut up ur literally like 12″ 

Five pages in we’re told Edward’s famous and rich and powerful. Five more pages and he’s calling some girl stupid for thinking God exists. Five more pages and he’s proven right. Five more and he’s kicked an evil priest’s teeth in. And no one can tell his mom on him.

Hiromu Arakawa figured out the dream of every edgy young weeb discovering internet arguments for the first time and she cast them an idol made of gold.

I’m gonna be real. I hear people make fun of Dick all the time for pulling bizarre acrobatic stunts while in his civilian persona. And yes, he is not subtle.

But I would like to assert, reading the latest Batman run, that he and Bruce share the same brain cell.

It’s always “protect the identity this”, “no one can share my dark brooding secret that”, until you have a chance to pull some martial arts in a pair of slacks and monkey brain goes oooh me kick.

i think the marvel vs dc conversation is bad because they're very different animals and i think its very obvious in how they approach the avengers and the justice league, even if you compare it between dceu and mcu, because at the end of the day superheroes in marvel seem to be allied with the governemtn regardless of their cause, like shield and avengers seem to be deeply connected in both fucntion and system because they're lead by a military guy and then the league in itself is funny because literally no one gets paid, they consider it volunteer work, that they operate outside of the planet so they would not be beholden to one state

okay but consider the hilarity of Dick Grayson actually making a name for himself as a REALLY good detective over in Blüdhaven, the Gotham tabloids catching wind of it, and printing a whole story about how Dick “…clearly doesn’t get it from his father!”

his father being Bruce Wayne, known in certain circles as the world’s greatest detective. like imagine the dinner table conversation after that story drops.

Obsessed with how Sanji spent two episodes completely oblivious to everything that was happening, made himself at home in a creepy house in the woods, got his ass beat by a couple of animals, rage-baited the big bad, and then had a smoke break. do you ever think about how simultaneously painful and joyous Bruce returning to the Manor must have been for Alfred? yes his darling boy is alive after all these years but he is a completely different person - temperament, humor, drive and dedication, even his sleep habits. how he thanks Alfred for food, like he’s forgotten how to be served entirely.
