Posted about this over a year ago… but a lot has changed with this custom!! Quick recap- I’ve had the idea of making a custom Monster High version of myself for a while. In the last post I was going to use a G3 Toralei Stripe doll as my base. This doll is my third attempt actually (G3 Toralei was V2). There was A LOT of thinking on how I was going to make a were-lemur. How to translate the features of a ring tailed lemur… What features of mine should they have. The split dye was an obvious choice (picking out what colors was a whole ordeal lol).

Jumping to between the last post and now.. I had already finished the reroot on V2 when Catty Noir was released. As much as it sucked to start over- getting to see my idea brought to life on a fat doll has brought me so much joy.

Stayed up till 2 am drawing three of my childhood crushes. It’ll probably be a while before I get to making them, but I’m excited!

Been messing around with what I think the Ottawa Centaur logo would look like. I’m really looking forward to what they end up using for HR season 2. Really anything would be better than what exists now (It’s a little Beer League / Kiddy for me. Not something I’d expect from a pro team).

Tuesday would have been my grandma’s 87th birthday which also means it’s been 3 years since she died. She was my biggest fan, in general but also in my creativity. It’s because of her that I got to take so many classes and she always encouraged me to keep trying new mediums.

For this year, I decided to add a little more whimsy into her birthday doodle. Much like how she didn’t understand anything I said when I’d ramble on about Star Wars, I think she’d just be happy I was happy when going on and on about D&D lol. I wish I could tell her about my campaigns… or the ideas I have for new ones. I think she’d love how I voice my Kenku NPCs (a campaign staple cause it makes me laugh lol).

This is Rhyn- she’s my only player character from an in person campaign (before I figured out Game Master is more my vibe). She’s a ranger now, I do not remember what her class was before lol. Did a whole Inktober’s worth of illustrations of her a few years back. I love this dummy with my whole being 💚

I’ve been planning this custom doll for so long! YEARS of mentally picturing and planning... Finally making it out of the sketchbook!! Going to turn this Toralei into a mini me! Her werecat body and features will translate perfectly for a were-lemur!

Tomorrow, I’m going to start changing her skin tone and map out her reroot!
