Literally it's terrifying the ends some people will go to so they can control their child, even when they aren't a child anymore. For 5 years I lived with my grandma who was a complete helicopter parent when it came to online spaces. She used 3 different apps to track my location, phone usage, online activity, any calls or texting, and restrict websites she didn't want me having access to. When I was 16 I moved back in with my mom and she said she would transfer all passwords to my mom and stop tracking me entirely, and that my mom could decide what to do with them (my mom didn't use them cause she's normal and let me delete them). She continued to pay my phone bill for a while just cause she's got a lotta expendable income. 2 years later I break my phone and I have a job so I buy myself a new one, so I call her to make sure all I need to do is transfer my sim card (the screen was cracked to hell and shedding glass into my hands but the old phone was still usable) and she then proceeded to admit she never stopped tracking whatever I was using data for. For 2 years she read every text, saw every call log, and everything I used mobile data for, and didn't tell me. When she told me this she didn't say whether or not she stopped, and when I tried to start paying my own phone bill she tried very hard to convince me not to (hmmm, wonder why 🤔) and I decided I'd wait a bit longer before I paid my own phone bill but to get revenge I used mobile data to search and look at the wildest most inappropriate shit that would make her boomer heart stop. Anyways my point is fuck helicopter parents. It should be considered abuse to not allow someone any modicum of privacy like that. I get trying to protect your child but there's a different between that and what some parents do

I think cis women should be allowed to get top surgery even if its not for a medical reason like breast reduction or cancer. I think they should be able to get it even if they're completely cisgender. Some women are just sick of dealing with them and would be much much happier never needing to wear a bra again

A Puppy's Turtle

I know I owe you a bunch of stories, and I’ve got them all lined up to tell, including Kouku and Girlgirl and Leika. I just finished with the hardest patients I’ve ever had. One was literally shredding, so needed two different stuffed animals of my own to act as models, and the other pair had fabric that was disintegrating in a way that made it sticky, so every time the needle went in and came out, I needed to clean it off! They were stuffing inside, and the top layer of their fabric was coming apart, but the backing of their fabric was sticky. It was new. :-/

But, today I am going to share the story of a turtle named Turtle, and for a rare special treat, you get to see part of the patient’s family. I don’t usually show families for privacy reasons, but, well, this is Turtle’s warm blooded being, Murphy:

They’d been together for six years, since Murphy was a puppy. Here’s their baby picture:

As you can see, Murphy has grown and Turtle has, well been worn a bit. Here are a couple of his diagnosis photos:

We agreed that Turtle needed transplants for his balding, and wounds sewn up. Usually, I don’t clean patients belonging to animals, as scent is so important, but in this case, the humans decided a spa was in order too. So Turtle flew down to the Bay Area and started his treatment with a spa:

You can already see him getting cleaner!

Once dry and restuffed, he got a heart with a bit of original stuffing:

And then the humans chose a fabric for his transplants from two options:

Soon his surgery was done and he was ready to head back north:

Normally I’d stop here, with a quote from the humans “He looks great!” But that’s not the end of the story. You see, once Turtle got home, Murphy sent some photos to make everyone smile:

Happy as a puppy that they’re together once more!
