How can I go about reintroducing paganism and witchcraft into my life? I've been so busy with school and some personal issues, that I've neglected my practice and my Gods. This saddens me because I notice that I was SO much happier while following this lifestyle, and I worked harder to improve my personal life. Things have calmed down a bit, so I was wondering if you have any advice on how I can get back to my practices (praying, making sigils, giving offerings, etc.) Thank you :).
My friend, I feel you hard. For me, and I did this today, I freshen up my spaces and revisit them. All my sacred areas, I return to (altars in my home, the outdoor altar I ‘keep’ for the landvaettir in my area) and ‘freshen up.’ Remove the dust, declutter, set things out for cleansings, etc, almost like re-introducing your space to you and its purpose (and you to it). I usually talk to the god it’s dedicated to while I do it, or meditate on them/their energy, and dedicate the task at hand and the effort it took me to that god as an initial offering. Then I light candles (until I sleep) and incense (until it burns out). This re-introduction is usually enough to set me back on-path; I hope this helps!
light a candle for comrade fidel today
it’s times like these i’m glad she got me
thank you
Ulfhuguð (“Wolf Age”)
A photograph by Marja-Terttu Karlsson taken in Pajala, Sweden, appears to show the form of a wolf in the Northern Lights. Could it be the embodiment of one of the great wolves of Norse Mythology manifesting in the night sky? You decide.

I get that it’s easy to agree to disagree when an issue doesn’t affect you personally. But like it or not, unless you’re a complete hermit, you’re not the only one being affected by that decision. Because we’re not talking about Loki’s hair color or the best gloss of “Muninn” here. We’re talking about the worth and ultimately the safety of other human beings.
As long as there are those who devalue certain minorities, there’s literally no way to create a safe space for everyone. It’s only a question is whether you want to create a safe space for the disadvantaged, or for those who would drive them off.

So we know for truth that historical Heathens were hella queer, and we can broadly say that their conceptions of sex and gender were comparable to those of pagan Greece and Rome (ubiquitous bisexuality, stigma against submissive men, nobody cares about lesbians because patriarchy, strong gender binary but a long tradition of accepted nonconformity, et cetera) but it REALLY annoys me that their court literature was so exclusively martial and mythological because I would SO be here for Viking Catullus and Viking Sapho.
here’s a tip
this is a Nazi.
This is a person who reblogged a post of mine via some Nazi blogs.
Notice they do not call themselves a Nazi. Instead, they use a collection of dog whistle interests that require specific contexts to be understood as basically white nationalism, colonialist white-heritage ‘antiquities’, specifically white nationalist Christianity, Nazi-related gender roles and ‘traditionalism’. Notice they work with children.
Learn to recognize Nazis. They do not look like goose-stepping jack booted thugs all of the time. Beware.
“traditionalism” is a big red flag with a swastika right in the center. Be wary of anyone who self-describes that way.
Heathenry 101: The idea that you can’t have an eclectic practice and be a real Heathen, or that it’s somehow incorrect to honor Germanic gods alongside gods from other cultures, not only has absolutely zero historical precedent in how Heathenry was practiced in the Iron Age, but also we can pretty definitively trace the idea back to the exact same Pan-Germanic nationalist movement that gave us National Socialism.
And before you tell me, “But Gothi von Ravenface OdinThorsson who’s the chieftain of Warrior’s Penis Kindred says otherwise!” please have ready a list of his sources.
honestly if there is not a kindred out there that is actually named Warrior’s Penis Kindred i will be 100% surprised as hell

If you think ‘racist Heathenry’ is not okay but ‘closed religions’ are, then you’re a fucking moron.
I’ll bite.
A Brief Synopsis of Racism (Particularly of the American Variety)
Racism is the belief that some people are inherently better than others, based usually on skin colour nowadays; it’s varied, however, in the past, and even today it depends on more than simple skin colour. Minorities and allegedly “racially inferior” others face injustices from the legal system, are subjected to segregation due to the capitalist economic system favoring racial elites (on top of heavier hits such as starvation/malnutrition and homelessness), and socially are considered outcasts, ridiculed at best and murdered by racists at worst.
Racism has commonly been used to divide the poor and working class, so instead of facing the capitalist robber barons who reap the means of production and are legally entitled to the products of the workers’ labour, some sections of the poor will turn against others for being relatively socially and/or legally privileged over others or unfounded biases.
As I’m American, I’ll talk about American racism, since I only know vaguely about racism in other countries, let alone continents. In America, “white” people of German or English descent are at the top of this racial caste system. Russians, Italians, and Irish people are now considered white, but are still subjected to harsh stereotypes; at points, they were not, and had a rough time assimilating in America. They’re still commonly thought of, at least jokingly, respectively, as dirty communists, violent mobsters, and religious extremist terrorists. Eventually, the majority white Anglo-Saxon protestant (WASP) population collectively figured, more or less, it would be better for them to allow these groups under the fold of whiteness, to create a more rigid barrier of “us” and “them”, than to allow those considered non-white to form a union powerful enough to overthrow the bonds of racial tyranny.
Racism, at its root, is founded upon violence; whether that is personally lynching people or, say, leaving them to die from lead poisoning in their water supply. Racism, in and of itself, is unjustified and must be dismantled.
Racism And Heathenry
I found that Shane Burley of @gods-and-radicals wrote a wonderful article which briefly explains the roots of racism in Heathenry, with proper sources. See also this post, which shows that historically, tenants of the old faith were actually pretty ethnically tolerant people.
What Should Anti-Racist Heathens Do?
Given the above, if one truly opposes racism, one must fight it. Racism must be denounced where it is spoken, it must be smitten where it is practiced, and those who oppose racism must give the victims a hand up. If racism isn’t destroyed, it will triumph, and senseless suffering will continue. If one professes faith in Odin, one must listen to others; if one professes faith in Loki, one must respect and befriend those viewed as monsters by society; if one professes faith in Thor, one must wield a hammer to smash the enemies of all the common people
Closed Cultures
I’m assuming when you speak of closed cultures, it is from the perspective of a whining white person who wants to wear a Plains warbonnet, and feels personally offended that you cannot do so without being called a racist. Again, I’ll let others explain why, as this point has been addressed to countless other people feeling this way countless times.

Neither Capitalism Nor Socialism: A Third Alternative
Neither Capitalism Nor Socialism: A Third Alternative
In the lead up to Earth Day this year, I wrote a 21-part series of posts offering practical suggestions for how to honor the Earth beyond the standard ideas of planting a tree and picking up litter (both of which are good, but insufficient). (You can see the list here.)
Number 6 was “Fight Capitalism.” I wrote:

Is…is this a joke? Has the author ever read economic theory? @one-with-the-all care to shred this with pagan communism?
Sounds like an amalgam of mutualism and “Third Way” liberalism they’re advocating. I don’t really see how you can accept the Marxist critique of capitalism (people are divided into capitalist class and working class along ownership lines relating to the means of production) and then just dismiss socialism as “rule by the bureaucrats”, but there it is I guess. Yeah, they definitely talk like a mutualist – capitalism is bad but markets are good – and they have a lot of off-base assumptions about socialism, just kind of ignoring its history and movements and struggles. And like I said, some of that Third Way liberalism creeps in when they paint the happy picture of “everyone being an entrepreneur”, i.e. “families everywhere owning a bunch of small means of production”. But large-scale production is here to stay, and in those instances you need to abolish private ownership (something this author keeps saying they support) of that large-scale production if you want to abolish capitalism. Workers and communities need to be empowered to command production in those cases, and we can’t just shut our ears and hope that a bunch of small family-owned shops can substitute that.
I understand the tactic the author is going for – they’re trying to push anti-capitalist praxis by using terms that don’t have a “tainted” connotation to the layperson – but it ends up being counter-productive because you distance yourself (and the hypothetical layperson reader) from the broader leftist struggles against capitalism. This is my same problem with the Zeitgeist Movement and other green politics-ish groups – “we believe in local control and democratic planning, but we’re NOT socialists or leftists.”
So I found this cool website for learning ancient languages
