anna tanaka had never been someone who could easily speak up. the only reason she'd been able to get so close with you was because of the distance. being vulnerable with someone who you talked to through a screen and in a whole different timezone was easier. one thing she hadn't prepared herself for was the fact that she could no longer do that. therefore, despite knowing she was mostly in the wrong in this situation, she just couldn't get the words out her mouth.

the morning of thanksgiving had been peaceful. although you still got the occasional glance whenever anton had tried to gain your attention, most of the avoidance from anna had seemed to calm. and thank god for mila it did because she had enough on her plate. since the clock struck 9 in the morning, mila had begun to prepare for the dinner feast, and the second you and anna had finished breakfast, you both were recruited. from prepping the seasonings and checking the temperature of the turkey to mixing the mashed potatoes, everything that you could do was done.

anna grumbled, nudging her brother to the side as she rushed to put the platter of roasted potatoes on the table, followed by you putting the platter of mac and cheese near it. you couldn't help but place hand on your stomach while leaning your head on anna's shoulder and playfully whine about being hungry, eliciting a chuckle and a flick on your forehead out of her.

before you could turn back to the kitchen, the sound of the doorbell ringing got the attention of everyone. with bickering about the responsibility of the door being passed around, dean finally stepped in, quieting both anna and anton before opening it.

enter the other lee family! it didn't take long for sohee to get comfy with anton and grayson on the couch while his sisters, jimin and soyoung, chatted along with you and anna. grace had been kept company by all the adults and put to bed just as dinner had finally been finished.
