Petrichor
The sound of my alarm, Vibrated through my ears. When I shut my eyes, The sun held me at surprise. Always fall asleep to The consoling sound of rain. You asked me wholehearted, I respond, unvarnished.
Each day I witness hundreds of faces. Predictions and mediocre handshakes. Hit hard, till dry rot, then rinse and repeat. Dismantle this germinate mess with bleach. I broke this wall for my autonomy. Free will, no suppression for this body. Shedding my old skin, I am They or Them. I am Petrichor, ending these dry spells.
Wear your heart on your sleeve. But be brave underneath. Let life blunt your armor. Soon you’ll meet the blacksmith. You’ve exquisitely earned, These repairs to upgrade. Humble conquistador, Scars, stories of glory.
Shedding my old skin, I am They or Them! I am Petrichor, ending this void drought! Identity; proud what you call yourself! I am Petrichor, ending this bare hell. In the end, what are we? But empty shells.
WE ARE PETRICHOR, WE ARE THE DAWNING. …Light rain, soft scent, aerosols, Running through our veins.

This is an original piece I wrote for my solo project, Call Them Q.
Last year I finally felt comfortable enough to tell myself and everyone that my gender identity falls in the non binary spectrum. They/them pronouns.
This is the first REAL piece that really connects myself to that chapter in my life. 2015 was rough, it was a drought of uncomfortable rough times. This piece really summarizes the break through to the relaxed feeling after self discovery. The word Petrichor really clicked with me.
Drunk Jenga
So last night at my place, Nottingham Co-Op, we all ended up playing Drunk Jenga. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s regular Jenga, but with rules/tasks written on each block. You have to do them or take a drink. During the first round, I had to talk in an accent (Valley Girl accent is what I chose), Have my arms pinned at my side like a T-Rex, and I had to fetch the beer that was set on the cat tower, so that involved climbing with my little dinosaur arms, and valley girl voice. The person who knocks down the entire tower has to finish their drink. A few other examples of what the other blocks say include: Truth Or Dare, or drink (I always went for the dares). My Dares included stripping down and jumping off the sorority girls dock into the chilly lake next door, making out with a creepy wax statue, and doing a sexy dinosaur dance to the rest of an Immortal Technique song, and a few kiss dares of course too. Then there was the “Have You Ever” rule, which the last person with fingers up has to drink, I never lost that one ;] There was also the, stand up and give everyone a compliment and drink each time you share one. I was over come with happiness, as some of the compliments people told me were “You are my favorite local musician.” “You are super cute” and “I admire your bravery”. It brought a smile to my face. After about 4 drunken rounds, the game just turned into literally everyone complimenting eachother and making out with eachother. I love my co-op, my housemates, and this new life I’ve started creating for myself. It’s a scary change, and sad to see most of my old friends drift away from me, and almost as if they don’t care. When you invest alot of time and heart into people, and just see it stomped on, it’s a sad thing. But I guess that’s life right? People come and go all the time. I’ve had to work really hard to get where I am, and nothing has every come easy for me. I’ve faced death multiple times, but always overcame it. And I’m proud of that. My band is leaving for a two week tour, and we just dropped out full length cd titled INSOMNIA MANIA. It’s something I’ve been working since the age of 16, so this is big for me. All of this is happening in FOUR days. My heart is doing back flips just thinking about it. But good things are to come for sure, If I keep being the type of person who is brave, honest, and embraces the past, as it has shaped me into the person I am today. I might be slightly weird, slightly damaged, but god damnit, I deserve to be loved, love, and have experiences and people in my life that are treasured, not just one way. I felt the need to type this, and I rarely do these “journal type entries”. Anyways, BRING IT ON LIFE!
Underneath Skin
My torso contains a prison.
Containing all my insides, wanting out.
My liver, draining the poison.
Craving the freedom cracks of broken bones.
My ribs are simply just a cage.
I guess that makes my heart a bird of prey.
FUCK YOUR STANDARDS.
LACKING MANNERS.
FRESH ROTTING BRAINS.
ON THE CEILING.
Is there a light bulb shining yet?
Bright ideas over my head?
Like walking barefoot through the snow,
Let numbness take place in these toes.
These too melt with the rage I hold.
So self destructive and reckless.
Hands shaking from what is buried.
Desert thirsty, I am relentless.
Idiotic.
So neurotic.
Going insane.
Fallen deep in.
Breaking these restraints.
WHAT BINDS ME, CANNOT HOLD ME.

This is a piece I wrote at 1 AM. It is now 1:20.
July 8th, 2015.
Enough Is Enough
Grind your teeth,
Pull out your hair.
In public and lost while people stare.
In between reckless and paranoid.
Pound your fists,
Crack your knuckles.
Pupils dance like a pinball machine.
In a wild world, you just can’t be weak.
The media is our shepherd.
Using fear to move the sheep.
When we try to speak up,
Not enough of us can wake up.
We’re hypnotized and paralyzed.
But enough is enough,
It’s time to pull the plug.
Expose this operation.
End all segregation, time to flip the lights on.
We’ll gain strength in numbers, stop working in the dark.
Finally get something done, their system will implode.
People will revolt, to put the bastards where they belong.
Because enough is enough.
It’s time to build humanity back up.
It’s time to put this ugly society to an end.
Buried and burned, to never return.
