these things are so fucking Dense with ingredients/nutrition/carbs/protein you have to roll a con save not to throw up afterwards but you donât have to eat again for like the next 12 hours
ok hereâs the gist of it
WORKING STUDENT BFAST BURRITOS
bfast burritos are a kind of a âchoose your own adventureâ meal, where the eggs and tortilla are a means of floating together Whatever ingredients you happen to have on hand so Iâll just list my usual:
4-5 eggs (required)
2 tortillas (required)
whatever seasonings you want to put in the eggs (I usually just do salt & pepper & use the other ingredients for flavor)
diced tomatoes & green chiles (I get a can of the âdiced tomatoes with green chilesâ then add an extra can of diced green chiles, mix them, keep them in the fridge & just scoop from that )
chopped onions (kept frozen for use Whenever, theyâll melt in the pan)
chopped spinach/kale (again - chop beforehand & freeze, grab a handful)
chopped sausage (I use a fake meat sausage or turkey sausage bc no pork but you can do whatever. this needs to be pre-cooked, no raw meat)
cheese (I just use a bag of misc âmexicanâ shredded)
other stuff you can include that I usually donât: beans (I hate them), potatoes (common ingredient, hashbrowns are great), other veggies, other meats, other peppers, salsa, Whatever is in your fridge
instructions:
crack eggs in one bowl, stir up til frothy
combine other ingredients in another bowl, pour into eggs, stir
dump that shit in a pan. donât make the heat too high. you want a blended, slightly soft eggy situation, not an omelette. take the eggs off the heat right before they seem done DONâT make them dry they will be nasty
take your 2 tortillas, put em on a plate, microwave like 10 seconds, flip them, microwave like 10 more seconds
distribute your eggy blend between the tortillas, top with cheese, roll up
Devour
super fast especially if you have all your ingredients on hand in like tupperware or in the freezer. these suckers tend to get runny so eat over a plate & have napkins on hand. can also eat with a fork. these WILL induce a near immediate food coma so donât plan on doing any serious movement for like an hour. these are best prepped & eaten AFTER youâve already done some serious work (cleaned stalls, hard ride, yada yada)
calorie count is probably obscene BUT these are all good ingredients, and if youâre doing an intense physical job this shit hits you with your carbs, protein, fat, really fast & really easy. if you want to cut the carbs you can also just make this a scramble and eat it with a fork, if you want to reduce calories take out the cheese, etc
these are also great bc if you get Sick of eating the same thing you can vary the ingredients and taste super easily. try a diff kind of tortilla (spinach & herb = my fave) or introduce more meat or more veggies. also great way to wipe out some leftovers. like fuck it what DOESNâT taste good scrambled up with egg in a burrito. toss your chinese leftovers in there. I bet itâs still delicious
