Hello world. I have not posted an outdid since before my mom died suddenly in 2019. It’s been almost 1000 days. Kind of an eternity. Kind of feels like yesterday. I’m back to the hard work of taking mirror selfies two days a week when I actually get dressed to go to the office. This outfit made me decide to post because the pants are a little bit out side my comfort zone and the shirt is my mother’s. This is a good creative outlet for me, so I’m going to try to do it again, but y’all need to come with me. Let’s talk about how your fashion effects you and why you choose to wear what you wear. My mom is a the inspiration in my style for my whole life. Never discouraging me from making some daring choices and experimenting. Never telling me I can’t wear things or that my body wasn’t good enough. Always gifting me things to wear that pushed my boundaries. Without my mom, my sense of style and curiosity just would not exist. Anyone interested in seeing #workitblog #ootd posts again? Since the second child monster was born, I made the choice that it was too much to ask of myself to try to get three humans dressed ready and out PLUS take a series of outfit photos every morning. It just seemed impossible to do all the things and be a half decent mom, wife and employee. And that’s been the case for a well over a year. Since last week was the 8 year anniversary (yes eight!) of when I started the silly blog, it has me wishing for that creative outlet once again. A move to a new office building lengthens my commute, but has the benefit of a decent bathroom with a full length mirror.
